I've always wanted to make my own egg nog, but wuss out at the last minute. Maybe I'll give it a shot this Xmas.

Wow, that looks difficult. Of course, I'm a novice baker.

My wife does all the baking. It's her own "special holiday time". She actually takes two days off work in November, and makes about 15-20 different kinds of Christmas cookies. She assembles cookie trays for all the different events we have during the season, and also gives them as gifts to co-workers, neighbors, etc... She even had special stickers made that say "Merry Christmas. Baked with love from Layni". Needless to say, I love them all, but luckily for me, I don't have to actually make any!!

Wow, 15-20 different kinds?! Cheers to Layni she is very industrious! You're a lucky man, Mike!

Thanks! She loves it though. She turns on Christmas music and really enjoys herself. I think, for her, it kind of signals the official "kick-off" to the season. For me, that usually happens when I begin putting up the outdoor decorations.

Luckily, my enthusiasm for Christmas has rubbed off on her, and she has become quite the fanatic herself. She sees how excited I am about decorating outside, and she has said she really wants to take over the interior and make it MORE festive! I've shown her pics from many of you all here at ATC, and she thinks it's amazing!!
