"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps, means a little bit more!"
When the town lights are turned on and Christmas FM is on the radio.
When the "Bers" begin, when Music Choice 'Sounds of the Season' start Christmas songs (the 2nd week of November) and Sept 17th which puts us at less than 100 days away...

The christmas music the first decor in the stores and of course the first snowflakes of the season.
Cold temps; definitely the first snow flakes, but sometimes even when the sky looks like it could snow (like yesterday); when stores have their Christmas ware out (which is so late this year!); and like snowbell and ChantelleJoy, this forum.
I noticed this year that listening to the Christmas station in my car gives me a strong urge to go Christmas shopping. And I think I buy more when there's Christmas music playing in the stores.
The holly's up, the house is all bright, The tree is ready, the candles alight; Rejoice and be glad, all children tonight.

Walking downtown and seeing all the decorations there and at the park...

Speaking of, I went to the center of town tonight to see if we had ANY Christmas decorations anywhere. The street that loops around where the town hall is has snowflakes on the light poles. And they've apparently switched the bulbs over to LEDs, because they're a dull white color that has the look of something low on batteries. I saw no other decorations anywhere (except on individual homes). My town obviously has their priorities backward!
