I did not know that about Hawaii, but very interesting indeed.

International Falls, Minnesota - International Falls is known as the “Icebox of the Nation” because its winter temperatures are frequently the lowest in the contiguous 48 states. The annual Icebox Days event (January) celebrates winter activities.

Remind me not to go to International Falls.

Jos, Nigeria- the earliest known settlers were known as the Nok people- skilled artisans that mysteriously vanished in the late first millennium. In 1905 the British discovered tin in the area and the city grew rapidly after that. It has become a melting pot of people, due to the influx of migrants coming for work.

London, England. The foundation of a large timber structure dated to 4800-4500 BCE & the remains of a bridge crossing the River Thames or going to a now lost island in it, dated to 1750-1285 BCE, were both found on the south bank of the Thames.

Very nice job!!! Manchester, VT. For a feeling of the area made famous by the Christmas Classic "White Christmas". Check out the mahogany-lined Wilburton Inn for a truly authentic Vermont Christmas experience—the whole place is lit up like a Christmas tree each year.

Do you miss it? Or glad to be a civilian?

Paris, France- the Parisii, a subtribe of the Celtic Senones, inhabited the Paris area from around the middle of the 3rd Century BC and carried on trading with many river towns. The Romans didn't conquer the Paris basin until 52BC.

The memories are great, but like most things these days, way too political for me.

Quakertown, Pa - In 1777, the Liberty Bell was hidden from the British here on its way to Allentown...
