I stopped into Michael's tonight to see if they still had the nutcracker I decided not to buy the other day and then later regretted it. They didn't. Their Christmas stuff was barely there- it was all Spring!
The holly's up, the house is all bright, The tree is ready, the candles alight; Rejoice and be glad, all children tonight.

My best stop is usually Hobby Lobby for that last minute stuff. I am going to the mall today to pick up a pack of Red Vines for the wife's stocking...

Nope. Tried a new gift shop and an outdoor mall last night and there was nothing that fit the bill.

That's the reason I begin so early. So hard to find what you want as the day approaches it seems... Good lick!

I did settle on something, but it wasn't what I would have chosen normally.
I had saved ideas for everyone, but then in the moment some of them didn't seem like the right thing this year.
I have to try and solidify things earlier so I don't run into that again (that, and not be sick for half of the run up to Christmas!)
On the bright side, I do have some ideas for next Christmas' gifts.

Sorry to hear you were not up to par as the magic day approached. Early ideas are always great. I leave part of my office closet open to store next year's gifts. Already got one...
