We have lived here about 10 yrs. It was hard adjusting to Christmas shopping in shorts, t-shirt, and sandals. Just doesn't have the same feel. There is something about the colder air that makes one more excited about Christmas coming. We try to spend Christmas in Ohio at my sister's whenever we can.

It was hot today

Oh, that does seem strange with the summer clothes, etc. Though I can remember a few times it was in the 60s or (very rare) 70s here. But it sounds like you have the best of both worlds with relatives in Ohio, lol.

Quite a bit cooler here the past few days, and rainy. The kind of weather that feels cold even when it isn't.
