    Angel Kisses

    Angel Kisses
    (I double this recipe)

    2 egg whites
    ½ teaspoon vanilla
    ½ cup fine granulated sugar
Beat egg whites until stiff and dry, beat in six tablespoons of sugar, a spoon at a time. Beat until it forms peaks. Add vanilla, then fold in the rest of the sugar. Shape with a spoon on cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake at 250 for 50 minutes.

(When you shape them, make them with little peaks like Hershey's Kisses.)

If you use a piping bag, you can have the meringue look like this (definitely likes kisses):

Thanks for the ideas. Some people just call them meringues. I prefer the name Angel Kisses.

Maybe I'll buy a piping bag some year. For years I haven't bought one. Which tip should I use?

MW, don't buy a proper piping bag with Tips, just get a large Freezer Bag (like Ziplock), fill it up and cut off the tip of one of the corners across as wide as you want them to be (I'd say 1cm should be fine). It's so much less expensive and totally reusable. I use this all the time (smaller sandwich bag sizes) for decorating cookies with piping (can be very tiny hole for detailed work!)
