    Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in NYC arrives today. They'll start setting it up, but won't light it until the end of the month. I used to work at 48th and 5th in Manhattan years ago. My Uncle worked right across the street. His office overlooked the tree. He used to have an office party to clebrate the lighting of the tree- which is a big, televised event in this area.

We watch it on the news every year. It'd be wonderful to be there

Going again this year December 9-10 and can't wait to see it again.

They got the Tree from my town a couple years ago. I think two of the Rockefeller Christmas Trees may have come from here.
"I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys." ~Charles Dickens

I would love to take the family to see the tree, I also want to take them ice skating there and visit the Fao store.

Oh wow! I'm ever so slightly jealous! I'd LOVE to go to America, especially to see this tree... I might have to start saving - maybe by the time the girls are 10 and 11 I'll be able to afford to take them Christmas shopping in New York!

One year we took my daughter and her best friend to the Radio City Christmas Show and then skating at Rockefeller Center. What a great day!
