Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100
During this season of Thanksgiving let us join King David in giving thanks to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for He is good and His mercies endure forever! Whether you are standing of the mountain top or walking through a deep valley, the Word of God teaches the believer to give thanks to the Lord in all things (Thessalonians 4:18).

May the Lord richly bless you with joy, peace and hope as you gather your family to celebrate God’s goodness,

I used to be that way too - but 30 years of playing host will cure you! (Even though I know my cooking is the best!!! lol)

Well - I will be hosting Thanksgiving again this year - so much for getting someone else to cook. LOL. Here is my 2014 Thanksgiving menu (less than 3 weeks away):

    Vegetable Platter with Onion Dip
    Shrimp Cocktail

    Roast Turkey
    Herb Stuffing
    Gravy
    Scalloped Corn
    Yams with Pecans
    Mashed Potatoes
    Steamed Broccoli and Carrots
    Cranberry Sauce (homemade)
    Olive and Pickle platter
    Rolls with Butter
    Cranberry-nut bread (homemade)

    Apple Pie
    Pumpkin Pie
    Coconut Custard Pie
    (all homemade)

Soda, Milk, wine, mixed drinks, beer, juice, coffee and tea

I will make the pies, cranberry sauce and cranberry nut bread a day or so ahead. Then I will prep other items and set the table the evening before. Then cook all day on the 27th. Dinner to be served around 4pm. Dessert around 7pm and then many hours cleaning up. The next morning, I start decorating!
