Good to know that I'm not the only one still trying to get some decorations done ..though mine hardly compares to the scale of yours Mike and those of some other posters

'I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future!' Scrooge repeated, as he scrambled out of bed. 'The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. Oh, Jacob Marley! Heaven, and the Christmas Time be praised for this! I say it on my knees, old Jacob, on my knees!' (Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol)

Hello everyone, I hope that you all had a happy New Years day. I am back to work now and are starting to work on my plans to take down the decorations. It is a massive job that will take me at least 30 hours. I still have friends visiting over the next few weeks so I will be taking down some of the nic nacs first and the outside lights. The trees will be left to the end to be taken down. I will leave the purple tree up until March and I also will put up some lights to brighten the place up.

I did not get a chance to finish all my decorating this year. My Star Wars tree and kitchen display never got completed. I had lots of distractions that impacted me this year ( as well as a house guest that drove my wife nuts who finally left last week ) I also had some disruptions with my decorating budget this year.
so I am already looking ahead to November 2012

I have learned a few years ago if you don't get all the decorating done that you want it really doesn't matter. I do what I can do and leave the rest because I would rather enjoy the holidays instead of trying to make my house perfect.
