    Thank you everyone for the advice. I'm still working on decorating my room but I've got a small (fake) poinsettia. It's red with a gold shimmer on it and some other copper and gold colored stuff. I'm wondering if I should paint my room back to a more neutral color but that won't happen for a while.

    So I put up the little fake tree in my room and used some old ornaments to decorate. It looks better with the lights off but it's still day time. When the sun goes down, I'll take another picture of it all lit up.

    Gold and silver trimmings on a white or even a black tree would look great!
