Sorry for not posting any pictures. I will in a few hours. Day one was a battle as there were several sets of lights that did not work. The tree is quite the beast to set up. I did hurt my back a week ago so I am moving very slowly at the moment lol.

You ain't the only "Mike" here with back issues. I just had back surgery in August, and I'm hoping I can push through the pain to get my stuff up outside this weekend!!

It was the day after Halloween and all through the house,
    all the creatures were stirring
    even that darn mouse

The dropsheets were hung from the window with care
in case the neighbours thought that a nutcase was living in there

...well actually not so carefully. I am an idiot and bought the wrong size. The construction workers outside are having a good laugh

    If only they knew

The 5 pieces are prepped and ready to be set up

The nine foot ceilings come in handy for stacking Christmas bins

The bottom section is in place finally after some lighting issues

Sections 2 , 3 , and 4 are in place after fixing a bunch of dead lights and shunts. Shunts is a condition that happens when electricity does not travel properly through the string of lights. I picked up one of those Christmas light checkers and saved myself hours upon hours of work. If you see one this year and do not already have one buy one !!!

The section of tree that is in the foreground of the above picture is attached to the 7.5 ft tree stand as I get ready to hoist it to the top of the tree.

Getting ready for the final lift

The tree is up and all of the prewired lights are working. The top 2 sections were quite the task to carry up the ladder with a sore back. I am sure that I am going to feel it tonight lol

Man I am not used to working with such a big tree. It is going to be a lot of fun as long as I do not fall lol. The picture makes it look like I was in the tree. I reached over my head and pointed the camera out from the tree.

    The top !!!

I am currently adjusting the branches and checking for burned out bulbs. I will then start work on adding another 2000 to 2500 mini lights and ornamotors followed by 500 to 1000 twinkle lights.

    more pictures to come !!!!

Wow Mike! I am so jealous. I think tall trees look so pretty. You are making me think about getting our tree out early....
