These are some of my favorites:

The Christmas Train - David Baldacci
Any of Thomas Kinkade's Cape Light Series Christmas books
The Christmas Joy Ride - Melody Carlson
A Christmas Home - Greg Kincaid
"The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear."

When I was a kid, I read a hilarious book called The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Last year I gave a copy of it to a friend's son. I was a little worried it might be dated (It was decades since I had read it). He LOVED it! So I guess it's still a good read.

We actually did that play at church when I was a teenager. It was a lot of fun!

    Were you a Herdman?
I've never seen a stage production of it. There was a made for TV movie back in the eighties. I didn't think it did the book justice.

Wow, I really had to think about that! I actually went to IMDB and looked up the characters' names. I don't believe I was Ralph; I think I played the part of Ollie.

I think this new for 2017 Hallmark Channel movie is based on “The Christmas Train” book by Baldacci.

For a children's book, I would go with the one my mom would bring out and read every year... The Shiniest Star.
For a regular Christmas story, I'll stick with the Dickens' classic.
But of course there are many more that I do enjoy...

I know this is an older thread but I couldn't resist .
One of my most favorite Christmas books is , The Christmas Tin, by Roderick J. Robison.
It was a great Christmas book to read during those cold New England nights once all is done with at the end of day's work.
I didn't want it to end. When it did I got The Christmas Tin 2.
I always look for good Christmas books throughout the year..

Never heard of that book (or it's sequel), but if it can bring out the Christmas spirit, then it has to be good... When I was growing up, I loved that the main comic producers (DC & Marvel) would always put out an annual Christmas Special. Bought em', read em' and of course... kept em'. Good hunting lizziesnow for your next literary masterpiece...
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps, means a little bit more!"
