Thread: Christmas decorations that make you say "Bah Humbug!"

  1. #41
I know what you mean by towns/villages trying to be festive and ending in disaster. In my town they put "bells" up but they look more like big blotches of tacky red and yellow. Half of them are burnt out and yet they still continue to put them up for the last 15 years. It wouldn't hurt them financially to just put up something new this year --- something that's holiday related and actually has working lights!

The next town over in both directions do it better...makes our town look tacky.

I like that there are blue lights for people who celebrate Hanukkah and want to to add lights to their house, but I know what you mean about the glow.

I don't like upside down christmas trees or people who have santa figurines doing un-santa like things. It just makes me mad!!

I use some blue lights (mixed with white) on my window awnings. I believe they give a good impression of ice/snow. I am also growing my outdoor display more and more every year. This year, I am putting it to music and there will be some blinky-flashy going on...sorry ornamentmaven. One thing I am not using, and I really don't like are inflatables. I love plastic blowmold figures because they remind me of the 50's & 6o's. However, inflatables are a bit tacky in my opinion. Blowmolds may be tacky too, but they instill a sense of nostalgia for me.

I really don't like the inflatables either Mike, for this reason - when they are turned off, they look like dead animals!!!

Here's an unusual (weird) tree that I don't know what to say about:
