    Warming autumn/winter soup recipies

I know that it's mid-summer, but I'm already thinking about my favourite time of the year, the autumn (fall to our US friends).

Does anyone have any simple to prepare yet tasty recipies for warming autumn/winter soups that use the root vegetables commonly grown in the UK? In particular I'm looking for recipies involving celeriac, as after being given some seedlings by a neighbour, I'm growing it for the first time this year.

So let the raucous sleigh bells jingle,
Hail our dear old friend kris kringle,
Driving his reindeer across the sky.
Don't stand underneath when they fly by.

Hmmm, sounds interesting! But my celeriacs won't be ready until November so I'm told. Still, getting some healthy root vegetables inside you is something to look forward to...

I actually do a butternut squash soup. I cut a large squash up, with an onion sliced, and a couple of carrots and a cinnamon stick. I cook until soft. I add salt and pepper and a little chilli powder for taste. I thenremove the stick and blend until smooth.

    Its gorgeous
    Enjoy

My wife makes an awesome peanut soup that warms me up. She also does a basic homemade chicken noodle soup that I LOVE!!!
