'I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future!' Scrooge repeated, as he scrambled out of bed. 'The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. Oh, Jacob Marley! Heaven, and the Christmas Time be praised for this! I say it on my knees, old Jacob, on my knees!' (Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol)

Hi Tinkerbell2 - washers and dryers are separate here in the US also. I think Glood is referring to the location of them in the kitchen. It was very common here to see washers/dryers in the kitchen many years ago. It is very uncommon now. Most people have theirs located in a laundry room, or perhaps in the basement. The kitchen is a much more convenient location, in my opinion!

Ours are in an alcove as you walk from the garage to the kitchen. It's just a little hallway of sorts.

Your kitchen is beautiful, Tink! Mine could use some updating, but it's not going to happen. And I like your garland above the window!
