    Talking My Department 56 Display!

Hi everyone! I just put together my Halloween Village collection today and wanted to share with everyone. Okay, it's a bit early but I just got a new piece and wanted to play with it now.

    Here are a few pics:

Now wait a minute, Susie. Just because every child can't get his wish that doesn't mean there isn't a Santa Claus.

Thank you! I'll probably be doing more Halloween decorating inside before the 1st. I tend to blend it in with the Autumn theme. The outside will have to wait until next month, tho!

Yes! The buildings and figures are from the Department 56: Snow Village - Halloween series. I also mix in Lemax Spooky Town pieces for the small electrics, such as the illuminated Pumpkin head dude, as well as the lit up pumpkins on the ground.

Thanks! It's a lot of fun making scenes like this.

VERY nice!!!! :D I LOVE the reflected green, purple and orange lights against the walls and on the pieces... One of my favorite things about Halloween are the colors and how they mix together. Purple, orange and black are my FAVES!!!!

    Thank you!

I have a strand of 'purple' and orange LED lights (from Michaels) in back of the display for extra illumination. Funny thing about 'purple' LED is that it's a combination of blue+red LEDs. To normal eyes it appears purple but if you wear thick glasses, as I do occasionally, light refracted in the lenses separate the purple so you end up only seeing bands of red and blue! Tricky!
