Yeah, due to their being more economical, incandescents are in the minority. Which is why (like Mistletoe) I do a lot of online shopping for my lights. :santasmile:

Sounds very nice. I had to do some serious searching on the "net" to find the right colored bulbs (and the twinkle C7's and C9's), but it was worth the time... :waving:
No doubt that the LEDs are much brighter. Just a matter of preference I suppose... :elf3:
I have C9's on the area above my garage and enough to lay on the side. The 6" of snow that fell could not keep them away. The heat melted the snow and the lights still shine through... :santa2:
The older C7 & C9 bulbs will get too hot to touch with your bare hands. Whether or not the newer ones get that way, I'm not sure as I have not had to replace mine yet... :snowman:
Interesting. I use LEDs outside on a few small wreaths. Other than that, it is regular mini lights or C9... :home:
Same here. Got the string changed yesterday. The Limo tours have begun, so I need to put the final touches on the outside and then I can finish up inside... :elf3:
Don't you just hate it, when you check out a string, they work just fine and then after you put it up... nothing? Oh well, it will not keep me down... :waving:
I still have C7 and C9 'twinkle' bulbs. I always liked the random flashing and use to lay on the floor when I was younger and watch the show on the ceiling... lol :presents2:
C-7s are cool, but I like the miniature ones. Especially with the controls that make them wave or blink... :rudolph:
I do have to admit though, that I prefer the multi-colored bulbs over plain white... :xmaswink:
I like the LED outside for their brightness (especially on those snowy nights), but prefer miniature inside for the softer glow... :home:
They can get hot, so I only use them on artificial tress and no more than four strands (100 lights). But really when they are that big, 100 is just fine. It does stay on less than the others and...
Oh yes. In fact I found a place that also has the old style twinkle lights available... :home:
Outside I have been switching to LEDs as mine burn out. Inside, though it may cost more, I prefer traditional c7 or mini lights. To me they are more subtle... :snowman:
