I like to have toast with smoked salmon and scrambled egg - see's me through until late lunch and it's a treat with the smoked salmon.
I use Christmas cards from the year before as gift tags. The off-cut card goes out for recycling.
It also shows more though for a person if you invested time making something for them. They also end up with something unique.
It definitely helps if you have some skill though.
I was told by a friend at infant school that it was really mum and dad. I was about 5. Didn't stop the fun though.
A digital photo frame with a memory card pre-loaded with photos that you have chosen. Should appeal on the tech front and it's personalised too.
A personalised photo book is nice for older family and friends. You can get them printed professionally but it's still personal because you choose the pics and text.
