It always feels to me that it is a very sincere and heartfelt holiday!
Christmas vibes make me feel a way that is almost indescribable.
My 16 year old daughter and I were discussing Christmas yesterday. She is just so excited this year! Its so good to hear! My older daughter (25) is also excited and volunteered to put together our Christmas Eve buffet!
Don't you just hate it when you're in a store, and you hear someone complaining about Christmas stuff being out already?
Oh, I do hate that! I absolutely can't wait and am so excited to see the first signs of Christmas in the stores. When I hear people complain, it makes me sad. They don't know what they are missing. I am a Christmas freak but I don't really let people know.
I hate that too! It's funny because every year they say "It's earlier and earlier every year"! If that were true, Christmas stuff would be out in May!
I started feeling Christmassy towards the end of August, i'm the only one I know who is so enthusiastic about Christmas, i've been picking up little Christmas things here and there in shops and planning presents for people.
Since November has come i've started ordering presents online, I would prefer to be out in the freezing cold nights going from shop to shop buying presents however, just feels that much more Christmassy. :santa1:
I think I start getting into the Christmas mood come September. Once the fall rolls in, it comes fast! I love the fall/harvest season & look forward to Halloween, Thanksgiving & of course, my all time favorite- Christmas! I get the holiday blues starting December 26th. Christmas couldn't be farther away & that makes me so sad. I've been collecting Hallmark ornaments since 1996 & my tree is loaded with them & it rotates. I put it up the weekend before Thanksgiving since it takes so long to do all by myself.
It's mid January, and I'm already thinking about Christmas 2011!
Christmas mood is always here with me, but, I agree with you, September has always been the time/month where I feel like Christmas coming..
I think the mood can strike you at any time. Suddenly you just feel the need to watch a Christmas movie or play mamChristmas cd. Once I hit September, the holiday spirit is almost constant. Sometimes it feels that it's all I think about!
I just looked back and saw I originally posted in this thread last November 1st. I must have JUST joined the forum at that time. This year, I've been bitten by the Christmas bug earlier than ever. I had a bit of a "down" time in January, but by mid-Feb, I was already thinking ahead to Christmas 2011. That's mostly because of my boys. With each passing year, they are beginning to understand how magical the holiday season is. My oldest turns 5 in October, and my youngest just turned 2. The soon-to-be 5 year-old is definitely in the zone for holiday excitement. Plus, he's watched me all year as I have continually gotten things that I will be adding to my outdoor display. So...to sum up, I'm already excited for this Christmas, and it will carry through all the way until it gets here!!
As your boys grow older, the more excited you will all get...
I bet, this Christmas preperation will have a whole different meaning from all past years, as,your boys begin to understand more and more every year, so, every years Christmas prepearations will definitely be much much better from previous one..
You are a very lucky father, hope you have fun with your boys and as years go by, become the best Christmas Team!!!
Oh... almost forgot.. Cant wait to see them members, here... :)
:elf3:I can't wait to be able to celebrate all my hoilday tradtions with my kids last christmas she had just been born that past november so she wasn't too sure of anything but now she'll be a year old so i'll be able to do a little bit more with her maybe start a new tradition with her... but we usually start christmas right after a thanksgiving
The kids definitely make the season sparkle! My kids are 26 and 17, so we are beyond the magical stage now! Even my youngest niece/nephew is 13 now. My grandniece is 19 months and would be so much fun at Christmas - except she is 3000 miles away in Seattle! Things are alittle toned down now, but still so much fun!
Anyway - I started to feel the holiday season yesterday as I spent about an hour making up to-do and to-buy Christms lists! I think today I may work on designing my Christmas cards!
already now a litlle bit because I'm reading at the moment Skipping Christmas:elf3:
I saw Harrod's Christmas display on the news earlier. Got me thinking of Christmas :rudolph:
I start to feel it really around September.
Its great to see this thread is still going strong through all these years! The air outside has a new smell to it! Fall is on the way and its got me itching for the holidays! :home:
Feelin' it....feelin' it right NOW!!
Yeah, it doesnt help me much that some of the stores round here are already putting a few decorations out! :christmastree:
Definitely start feeling it in September :smitten:
Overall, it's been a very exciting year!!
I am definately feeling it! I can't wait to get my Christmas CD out in my car :yahoo:
Yes me too! My patience is wearing thin! :santa2:
I start feeling it in September. I've been listening to Christmas music for weeks now. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving to put our tree up but this year I am thinking of putting it up in early November. We are thinking about having a Christmas party for friends and family and we are going to put up two trees this year....so I will have a lot to do! Can't wait!!!:tree:
I Have bee listening to Christmas music for two weeks straight and am already working on decorations. I want to be READY! :tree:
Your all way ahead of me!! I have yet to listen to any christmas music! Our tree always goes up Nov 1st so I cant wait!! :tree1: :merrychristmas:
I've been listening to Christmas music since August.
Once we get into the "ber" months, I really start to
feel it though. I start really celebrating in November,
right after Halloween. That way I get a full 2 months
to celebrate my favorite holiday :elf1:
Though my mom doesn't let us take the decorations out
until the day after Thanksgiving :(
:gingerhouse:Well...living in Canada, it is a tad early to start putting up Christmas decorations after our Thanksgiving, but I start getting excited around then anyways!! On November 1st, I watch Christmas with the Kranks and pull out my Chicken Soup for the Christmas Soul! Christmas makes me so happy that the earlier I start thinking about it, the better!!!
I usually get really into it right before thanksgiving but this year ive been excited since september when i started seeing stores putting out their christmas stuff. ive always loved christmas but i think its even better watching my kids getting all excited!
I really feel that Christmas feeling when the first winter-smelling cold front moves in. You know, when the air smells like chimney smoke and has that chilly bite to it... Then I start singing "It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas" and I feel so excited and happy!:hopxmas:
I LOVE that smell!! We live near a nature trail, and that smell of nature + the chimney smell is so wonderful!!! Totally know where you're coming from!!:home:
I love that, too! There's just something about that cold, crisp air and the smell of smoke gently wafting from the chimney of a nearby home, that gives a certain excitement as Christmas draws nearer. I knew that feeling many times when I lived up in MIchigan, but here in Florida, it's generally shorts, t-shirts, and sandals and occasionally, even the a/c on. Christmas is still Christmas and still wonderful, just different.
Mostly right after Halloween.
No matter when it starts...it's definitely in FULL FORCE right now!!
The beginning of December. :elf1:
When I see harvest items on the shelves at BIG LOTS :fall:
