I love snowflakes and last year I made some and sent them to my kids. Was trying to upload a picture of it my for whatever reason this site does cannot accept my file. I wish I could show everyone.
this year I plan on making another snowflake ornament
Once in a while I buy a pack of garlands, but most of the time I just leave it to my daughter. She, like all kids, loves to draw and is into paper crafts. I let her decorate the house and the Christmas tree.
To be honest, I have not tried my hand at making things for Christmas (except baking of course), but my wife being a huge Harry Potter fan, I decided to do something with that theme this upcoming 2018 Christmas.
After failing to find any decent HP ornaments, I found a site that has a really cool looking glass (or plastic if you prefer) ball ornament for each of the four "schools". I will try to surprise her, especially if they do not turn out right, when we put up her 1st Harry Potter themed Christmas tree in the library this year... :gingerhouse:
I made Christmas journals to send by post, format is slightly smaller than travellers size so they fit flat in an A5 envelope and added some festive sachets of teas.
Made with some tea dyed papers, cardstock, some christmas patterned papers, hand made embellishments, stickers, tags.
WOW!
I havn't done any crafts yet this year - but I hope to soon!
I am going to go with a Harry Potter theme for my wife in a smaller space. We havevisitors for the season and the library has become a temporary bedroom. Hobby Lobby has given me a few craft ideas to explore.

I like that Christmas aroma one. I'll have to try it... thanks.
I do these type through the season as i have old pots and i put it on my woodstove, the smells are just amazing, brings back alot of memories.
Living in New England a home isn't a home without one as i also still do up my grandmothers hot chocolate recipe and that is put on the woodstove when we gather or just have company this way people can have some as many of my friends love it and the love how cozy my home is.
Stovetop potpourri mine has mandarin peels, whole cloves, cinnamon stick and few star anise in a small quart pan I use only for herbalism recipes. I cook electric so after it boils and I switch off the burner it keeps simmering whilst the hot stove keeps hot for quite some time. Once scent fades from room I boil it again briefly repeat process few times a day.
Had very late roses in my garden right up until mid november so dried the last few roses and dried also some rose leaves for greenery , added well dried mandarin peels cut with scissors into thin strips added whole cloves, allspice berries, a cinnamon stick broken in bits. Added the dry potpourri mix to a well washed glass jar that had preserves. Added some thin ribbons in magenta and shiny iridescent white around neck of jar, curled ends sliding against scissors so it curls inward into loops. It is a soft sweet natural scented jar.
That's sounds like a home filled with Christmas cheer. Thanks, I'll have to try that...
Yesterday on sunday made a small 13 cm crochet wreath with some leftover holiday yarn. Used Herrschners(r)Holiday Yarn in color christmas multi which is red/green/white/silver.
