Bing Crosby!
King's College Choir
They are excellent! Definitely in the running for my top favorite, but there are too many to just pick one
That would be tough, but I'd have to go with Bing Crosby...
Elvis Presley
Nat King Cole
Frank Sinatra
Bing Crosby
Burl Ives
Johnny Mathis
Ella Fitzgerald
Dean Martin
Perry Como
Brenda Lee
Bobby Helms
Eartha Kitt
John Denver
Nat King Cole
Kay Starr
I did make up my own selection on my computer and contained all of the older music/artists. Most of which you have there...
Bing Crosby Perry Como Gene Autrey Burl Ives and many others.:merrychristmas:
The only two albums I own are Josh Groban and Michael Buble - but I super love Bing Crosby as well.
Michael Buble's Christmas album is Perfection.
I own a lot of Christmas Music and compiled a 2 CD set of my favorites, from performers "signature" Christmas songs. Such as...
White Christmas - Bing
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas - Frank
The Christmas Song -Nat King Cole
A Marshmallow World - Dean
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Andy
and so on...
We had an instrumental one made in the 1960's that we loved. Record got worn out decades ago, and I have no idea who made it. But I keep listening to Pandora hoping I will find the name of the album. It was CHRISTMAS JOY, but then were at least 100 others too.
Do you remember any of the songs on the album? The Ventures had a Christmas Album titled Christmas Joy (and included that track) back in the 60's... btw, Welcome to the bers. 75 and counting... :carols:
Sure, the songs were the common Classic, Hark The Herald, Santa Claus is Coming to town, Silent Night, God Rest Yea Merry Gentleman, Silent Night, Sleigh Ride, I'm dreaming of a White Christmas, and a few more...all was instrumental 100%, two sided full LP. Songs were the most Common One sung in Churches at Christmas, except no singing.
Well, I know that the Ventures had a couple of Christmas albums with classics carols recorded (the were an all instrumental group), but I'm not sure if either included all those particular songs. Try iTunes for Christmas Joy and see what pops up. And... good hunting. :carols:
I appreciate that, I didn't think of that. I always think of ITUNES as new hits. Great idea.
No problem. I did get the new Herb Alpert Christmas album last year. It was good to hear that famous trumpet once again... :xmascandycane:
anything choir
I'll go along with that Elf Erv, especially live... :carols:
I'd have to agree with Steph- too many good ones to just pick one. Each artist has their own feel- warm and cozy, nostalgic, jubilant, fun...something for every mood. :santa-smiley: I looked to see if I had more of one particular artist in my play list, but I don't. There are a few albums that I can listen to straight through, though- Gene Autry, the Rudolph soundtrack and Johnny Mathis'- all 3 bring back lots of childhood memories.
I have listened to many of the songs, i.e. White Christmas, done by several different artists, but if I had to pick one to do that song, it has to be Bing. Though there are many great singers, I will have to admit that when I hear certain songs, one singer will always come to mind... for instance
The Christmas Song - Nat King Col
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Andy Williams
I'll Be Home for Christmas - Frank Sinatra
A Tennessee Christmas - Alabama
and so many others. Again not to knock any others who do these, but I do have my favs... :xmaseyeroll:
I like Neil Diamond. I even like George Strait. I've heard Alan Jackson sing too! Country Christmas sounds nice!
None of it is bad. I've even included a bit of Jazz Instrumental Christmas music... :elf1:
Bing
If I had to choose just one... I'd agree Elf Erv. :carols:
How about Acapella groups? I like Pentatonics Christmas arrangements.
I saw an album that has Elvis doing duets with many of today's artists. It was really something to listen to... Merry Christmas!! :presents3:
:elf3:Have a few but,the top would be Bing Crosby.
Hard to go wrong with that choice Snowbell1. Dean is up there with him as well... :carols:
I love all different Christmas music.
Even after Christmas I still play them for a while..
Sometimes the holiday goes by to quickly for me so I try to stretch it out a bit more...
:treedance:
I do as well lizziesnow, but I have to admit that certain songs, no matter who sings them, will always recall my favorite artist that did that tune. Like White Christmas by Bing, The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole, Marshmallow World by Dean... etc. :elf3:
Perry Como
When I think of him, thoughts turn to "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas." :waving:
