Our stockings is hung by the fireplace..Where is your stocking hung?
also by the fireplace
on the mantel of the fireplace
Use to be by the fireplace, but due to changes in living quarters, they now hang on stocking holders on the Living room bookcase and the same in the Library (so the dogs cannot get to them)... :presents3:
We hand them over the fireplace and add little treats for Christmas morning.
Since we have several dogs, we hang them all over. All long as they are out of reach... lol. :xmaswink:
We have brass clips that attach to the bricks of the fireplace and they hang from them. I could never get the stocking holders that sit on top of the mantle to actually hold them.
I have a couple on the mantle, but I use the very heavy flat metal ones... :rudolph:
Did anyone ever hang their stocking on their bedpost when they were a kid?
I've heard of that, but no. We did not have an "Official" place to hang them, so they showed up filled and under the tree Christmas morning when I was growing up. In our home, they hang empty on various stocking holders throughout the house and if when filled they can still hold the weight, cool. Otherwise, under the tree they go as well... :presents3:
Ours got a bit too heavy for the holders, so they are under the tree, front and center... :tree1:
I use command hooks because they will hold the weight of a full stocking.
This year, they will be in the Harry Potter library (I put it together for my wife). That way the dogs will not get to them... lol :snowman:
my cats have stockings, running out of room on the fireplace mantel. adopted another one this summer. :elf1:
They hang by the fireplace until they are filled Christmas Eve and then placed by the tree due to the weight... :tree:
running out of room on the fireplace mantel, I may have to install a 2nd fireplace :merrychristmas:
I do keep one down in my office that I put gift cards in during the year and then give them to the church to hand out as they see fit... :my lord:
This year, the stockings for my wife and I will be in the Harry Potter Library (which will be transformed into Christmas as well). Thi si due to the addition of two large dogs that seem to get into everything. The library is the one room in the house that stays shut when not in use... :waving:
I have bought two stocking hangers, so they will be off the ground in the library... :waving:
