How many of you decorate for July 4th?

Other than putting out our flag I usually don't do much. http://www.topsmileys.net/smilies/holiday/flagday.gif My mother-in-law gave us some red, white & blue lights last year though, along with mini flags that I may line the walkway with. We'll see...
I do have some...can't remember what exactly, but for some reason when the 4th comes around I'm never in the mood to decorate or I get sidetracked. I'll have to look at them again. Do you set off fireworks?
Yeah, I'm never really into decorating for it either, however, this year should be different bc I'm really wanting to have a Christmas in July party! :D We'll see though...No, we can't set off fireworks due to laws in the state against it. :sad elf: We have gone down to SC where friends of ours live and set them off there before. I haven't been out to watch fireworks for years. although they are illegal our neighbors always seem to set off some. But we just stay safe at home.:dance::dance:
I have a red white and blue bow that I hang on my front door. I have to work untill 8pm on the fourth of July, so I know getting home will be a nightmare.:sad elf:
we don't even have a flag but I would love to get one. Maybe I will if I can save the $$$. But my doctors get first dibs!
I do... I just bought some stuff in Target the other day, at their $1 spot. Some door decorations and flags and such... :)
I haven't been to target in years I keep saying I will get their but never seem to make it! all my money seems tied up into doctors visits and RX's.
I have a wreath, a swag and a large bow in red, white and blue that I hang over my door, on my lamp post and on the gazebo in the back. We often have a cookout with friends and family. After dark, we go to the banks of the river that runs through our town and watch fireworks. Mainly we relax and enjoy the summer weather
I just put a few things on the porch. And this year I'm making a watermelon basket which I've done some years. It has patriotic carving(stars and banners).

That watermelon idea sounds neat.
I left for work today and realized I still hadn't put the bow on the door. (Homer Simpson voice) D-OH!

You guys inspired me to decorate for the 4th this year! :santahat: I didn't have much, but the few things I did have brightened things up (some flags and sprays). I'm glad I did it. I went looking to buy some more decorations, but I couldn't find any that I liked. Right now I'm listening to a patriotic song list that I created (Yankee Doodle Dandy by James Cagney is on now). :)
One of my favorite things to do for this holiday is to go to an outdoor concert put on by the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. You sit on blankets and chairs out in an open pretty area and listen to the patriotic music and then they set off fireworks to music. It's relaxing and beautiful. We've had such bad thunderstorms this past week, almost every day, that I didn't go this year, because there's no place to get away from the lightening. It ended up being beautiful, so I'm sorry I missed it.

That's creative Marshmallow World. It came out nice. I carve pumpkins for Hallowe'en, but never think to do something like that for another holiday.

I have a few things but some years I don't put them out. I do try to do a tablescape with red, white and blue if we are eating at home. This year I didn't do any thing.

a couple weeks before Memorial Day we hang up a few patriotic theme decorations, we also have a small and slender artificial tree that we leave up and have it decorated in a country/patriotic theme all summer. For me this sort of theme encompasses Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day holidays

Willingly I accept. In my opinion, it is an interesting question, I will take part in discussion.
Since I have 2 little boys, the 4th of July is kind of a big deal. Plus, my little guy's birthday is July 19th. Once we get past July, and into August...I start to get that itch for Christmas again!!!
Don't really decorate for the 4th. Maybe some patriotic napkins if we're having a BBQ
I have an inflatable Uncle Sam that goes out and a tinsel red, white & blue top hat (the kind Uncle Sam wears) that hangs from my front door. I also have a couple of strings of Red, White Blue lights that go around my garage opening.
I usually relax on the 4th, but last year we had a neighborhood block party in my driveway. The wife and daughter wanted it, so I went along. Of course, I wound up doing most of the setting up and cooking.
Oh well, we all had a good time...
