Here's a story I just found on Amazon in the middle of February, and it is WONDERFUL. It put me in the mood for Christmas right away.
"Christmas On The Move Out West"
"A wacky memoir that is destined to become the new baby boomer Christmas classic."
This TRUE STORY takes place in Portland, Oregon, 1968, and spans the month of December.
A coming of age account of a dysfunctionally functional family. A widower with five children and his spinster sister roll with the punches as best they can in a collection of crazy, humorous and sentimental anecdotes full of surprises with an unexpected ending.
You can find the book on Amazon.com
Merry Christmas in February !

starting to feel some Christmas in July spirit :merrychristmas:
I'm back for another year of Christmas...this is site has become a tradition for me, its been four years now! Happy October 1st! Holiday season has offically started!! :home:
Thank you, Im sure we all will! :santa2:
While the Christmas music doesn't start around our house until Nov 1, Oct 1 is when those 'feelings' start to creep back again :xmaswink:
Me too! So this year I went to the ToysRUs to buy my niece a birthday present (this was at the beginning of September) and ended up buying waaay too much (as usual) so I reserved the rest for Christmas. Now this got me thinking. Every year I say I will start Christmas shopping early so my wallet doesn't take such a hit in December, but I just never seem to do it. So since then I've been actively shopping and thinking about Christmas and it has got me into the Christmas spirit like crazy!
All I can say is I'm glad that this forum exists! Every time I've mentioned Christmas in the last couple of weeks to my friends and family they've rolled their eyes at me 'cause it's not even Halloween yet. However they roll their eyes at me every November 1st when I try to get them pumped too, so I guess they're just lost causes. It's so great to have a place where I can say I'm listening to Christmas music right now and just can't wait 'til it starts snowing and the lights go up. I'm such a sucker for the this holiday.
So that was my rant. To those who are like me: You are not alone. We may be crazy, but we smile often and I can't see anything wrong with that :).
Being a true Christmas fanatic it's never really far from my mind and heart.:elf3:
It is so nice to see that there are other people out there with the same love for Christmas that I have!
I start to get that warm Christmas feeling when October comes around, especially when the air starts to get that crisp smell that reminds me that it is the holiday season! Christmas time warms my heart more than anything else. I have already started listening to Christmas music on my iPad (there is a great free app called Xmas Radio where you can listen to unlimited Christmas music year round)!
When I tell my friends and family that I am excited for the holiday season to start, they automatically assume that I just want gifts. That is not the case though! I love the Christmas season most because it is a time of giving back and spending time with the people you love! I love wrapping and giving gifts as well. It is such a beautiful time of the year.
I can't wait for the Christmas music to start in November!
For me I usually find that around August I am longing for Christmas. But it usually feels like the holiday season on the 1st of November when I end up walking into stores and seeing all the decorations and they start to play a bit of christmas music
I am officially feeling the Christmas season! The Starbucks red cups and seasonal holiday drinks come out tomorrow :)
When September comes, my mood changes a lot, I admit... Its the weather that changes a little, its the rains that come more often, its autumn..:windy:
Im always happy when autumn comes, my good friends.. Then, I know, that Christmas is coming and that I have 2 months to get prepared before I start decorating the first days of November!
I start getting the feeling of excitement around the middle of October; They start putting the Christmas stuff out in stores around that time too. I try to only take one holiday at a time though, so I really try to avoid Christmas things until after Halloween. Basically November 1st, you can start bringing on the Christmas songs! Hehe.
I find that if I start too early on a holiday season the novelty and excitement can burn off prematurely.
I love, love, love this time of year!!
The one tradition that I do, without fail, on Thanksgiving night, after we get home
from sharing a great time with Family, is to put up my two pine cone wreathes (front door and back door)
My late MIL made them for our first Christmas (39 years ago) and they are still beautiful!
I started listening to Christmas music in October!
Our tree is going up, the day after Thanksgiving!!
Can't wait to decorate!!
Maureen:santa1:
I do Hallowe'en very big ...

this is my website if you want to see what I mean! But don't get me wrong I'm a holiday nut , I started listening to Christmas music right after Hallowe'en and I wait till after my daughters birthday (nov 10) and Remembrance day to put up Christmas decorations.
That Christmasy feeling hits me hard and I love it!
I'm already starting to feel that Christmas feeling...but I think it really hits the day after Thanksgiving for me :)
The first time the Coca-Cola trucks advert comes on. 10th November this year! ;)
Around October 1st. I blame the fact that since my birthday is at the end of November and having to give my combined birthday/Christmas list around then.
October
when its christmas in july on QVC...:merrychristmas:
When first rains arrive and that is always the first days of October.
In Greece, summer does leave September easily.. I remember some years where temp had climbed to 30c and it was last days of October..
My mood changes in a flash when first rains come and that is when I feel autumn coming.. Hope this year to come early-in a normal way I mean..
August :treedance:
I'm back for another year! Its become a tradition for me to read all the new reply's to this post. Almost September and I feel as if it should be October.
It's getting earlier every year. This year I had to stop myself from singing Xmas songs in June.
The end of September is when I start my planning.
