Snowfall on Christmas Eve- it doesn't have to stick (so people can travel and we don't have to shovel), but a nice amount to really get us in the mood!
Classic Christmas Carols being sung by those who made them famous... i.e., White Christmas by Bing Crosby, The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole, The most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams... etc :carols:
Christmas Cookie Coffee Creamer :merrychristmas:
Hallmark's "Countdown to Christmas" begins tomorrow!!! :snowman:
saw fruit cakes at the grocery store today :elf1:
Part of the Wal-Mart seasonal candy isle has already pushed the remaining Halloween candy together and have started putting out Christmas candy... :tree:
Same here. I record a few when I am at work, but usually just keep them on while I am decorating (which has already begun)... :santa:
Turning on to your street and seeing it all lit up with lights. :christmastree:
That rare occasion where it is actually snowing on Christmas Eve, not just laying on the ground... :snowing:
Anything else ?
How nice! Did you actually get it?
We haven't seen a flake anywhere. We usually get at least a dusting mid-month. And now a lot of the neighborhood has taken down their lights. :crying:
I'm praying that there will be SOME before we take our outdoor lights down in another week or so. :my lord:
Got some sleet, which gave the appearance of snow, but the fluffy white stuff went to the west of Sioux Falls. Oh well, there is always next year... :home:
We did end up getting some snow two days before I was going to shut my outdoor lights off, so I ended up leaving them lit for another week. :gelf:
Real Christmas trees and the uniqueness of each, even though they're not perfectly formed. :christmastree:
Taking down the interior Christmas decorations (except for my office)... :waving:
I took the big trees and the interior Christmas decor down on 1/16, while I was home on a snow day (listening to Christmas music :snowman:). It was early for me, but I was feeling a mild stress at the back of my mind that I was going to have to do it soon, so I just decided to do it. I decorated for winter with white lights, snowflakes and evergreens, leaving up most of my mini trees (that didn't have red on them). It helps me transition from Christmas, since it's so difficult to say goodbye to all the cheery decor! :crying:
I'll be taking down my candles in the windows this Fri 2/2.
Your office is a little soothing time capsule. :home:
Yes or as I refer to it, my Christmas Sanctuary... :reindeer2:
We need a little Christmas, right this very minute! We need a little Christmas now!
Mine has already begun, as several Stockings now decorate my office and getting filled with special items... :waving:
I really enjoy giving stockings, they just seem to encapsulate the whole season for me... :christmastree:
I quite agree. :elf3:
I am thoroughly enjoying Thanksgiving season, but I am so ready to decorate for Christmas. I wonder if there's fresh greenery made from yews for sale. And if so, how long they stay nice, before they dry up. Same with a fresh holly wreath. My experience with fresh greenery has been that they are dead within a few days (and not worth the price). I'm guessing that the peoples of the past put it up for the Eve and Day and it didn't need to last...
Looking forward to giving the table a huge makeover. There will be a smaller tree out there, so we can have some decor without worrying about tails clearing the path... lol :snowman:
I guess this applies... got the last of my interior Christmas decorations down (except the office, which is 24/7)... :christmastree:
Watched a Hallmark Christmas movie the other night. Hot Cocoa, the fireplace and Hallmark... overall, a great night. :tree1:
From the excitement of getting ready!
99 days to go! :home:
