My hubby is giving me a cookie jar. It's a snowman wearing a sign that says, "My Tummy's Full."

I painted this Santa cookie jar back in 1973 when my kids were 3 and 5 - it had been a part of Christmas ever since. I don't use it for cookies anymore but I still have to get it out

last year one of our cats wanted to have a personal chat with Santa

I think he wants to know what Santa did with the mouse! I never saw a cookie jar like that...what fun.

lol - I didn't even notice that - the mouse was probably on the floor - I use that Dept56 sticky stuff but stuff does fall off when the grandkids are around :) - of course they never touch anything - lol .....

When I was a kid,

We always had a Mrs. Claus that held mostly peanuts and assorted candies. It wasn't a jar at all, and there were no cookies, but this sure reminds me of it. It was made by my Mom out of an old red "Wisk" plastic bottle or some such plastic bottle. Mom stuck a purchased doll head on it and crocheted a hat for her and a shawl.

Every year, we knew where the "goodies" were tho!

I really do have that cookie jar though...It's in my art studio with the rest of my Nightmare collection.

I had a collection of Christmas cookie jars but got rid of them a few years ago when I had to downsize all my Christmas decor.

I have never had a cookie jar! Maybe I should ask for one. but I don't bake cookies very often or buy them either. My mom has a glass gallon jar with cows on it that they use for cookies. but right now it is holding Shorty dog treats in it! He is spoiled. :kinky elf:

If you don't bake cookies, you turn the sign around:

Thanks. He made me giggle when I first saw him and I didn't even know his sign could be changed around.

Several years ago my niece got me a beautiful big snowman cookie jar. The same year a friend got me a Snowman Teapot. The teapot holds tea bags. I also have snowman mugs which I keep on a tray next to the others. I'm ready for a mug of Christmas tea any time!

Linda, that snowman is adorable...Tell DH he did a good job! :snowman:

We have a snowman cookie jar that we've never used. It was given to us a couple years back and each year we say we'll take it out for the winter, but I always forget. Looks like I'll be headed back into the attic this weekend. ;)

No, I usually put out a Christmas candy dish filled with chocolates, mini candy canes, gumdrops, and those hard Christmas candies.

Cute cookie jar MW. I use to have about 7 or 8 but got rid of them a few years ago. I would display them about the cabinets in the kitchen.

Cute! I thought about getting one, but I have so much already, it would be overkill. Unless I found the *perfect* cookie jar. :smitten::
