Not a big Christmas candy fan. I do like anything chocolate-minty

My mom makes chocolate covered peanut butter balls (I think some call them buckeyes). They never last too long!

I love the little truffles. They are tasty and are wrapped like little presents so they can easily be displayed in a see through glass candy jar :)

I go to the Cracker Barrel to get old fashioned ribbon candy. The only time of the year I see it around these parts...

Just saw that Wal-Mart got in some Chocolate Pretzels rods. Guess I'll have to increase my walks... lol :elf1:

Ribbon candy is an iconic Christmas candy for me, and I like to see it set out, but I don't really eat it. I used to like a wintergreen candy cane in my stocking when I was a kid. Now, if I'm eating chocolate at the time, my favorites are the Polish rum or cognac filled dark chocolates.

I enjoy it (ribbon candy), but I need to do it in smaller amounts now that the "age thing" is creeping up on me... lol :elf1:

Do you have a favorite flavor?

Cherry is my all-time favorite. Guess it is because it helps the medicine go down when I was young... lol :home:

I don't think we ever had cherry, since I usually really like it. We had some vague mint tasting ones...not sure what the exact flavor was, but something along the lines of wintergreen. There were also different colors, but I obviously preferred that one, as I have no clear recollection of the other flavors.

My mom got one once that was licorice flavored. I nearly gagged... lol :presents1:

I asked my mother what flavors of ribbon candy she used to get us- she said she didn't realize they came in different flavors. She never really liked them, but got them because they were pretty. :snowman:

Basically. :santahat: Funny that none of my sisters even ate them. You'd think we'd eat anything sugar, since we were a 'health food' house growing up. Though, we each got a large candy cane in our favorite flavor in our stocking and they took awhile to eat, so maybe we never got around to the ribbon candy.

But she got them every year, so I have a warm association between them and Christmas. :santa-smiley:

Ribbon candy is still my favorite, but I do enjoy some of the various flavors done in candy canes. Especially the Hawaiian Punch variety... :gelf:

That is one heck of an idea. I'll save a 12 pack for CIJ 2022. Thanks for the idea Mistletoe... :elf3:

BTW, I did keep a pack of the Hawaiian punch canes for CIJ. But I understand they have a Chocolate Mint candy cane coming out this year... :gingerhouse:

Don't think I have ever tried that. But last year, they came out with a variety candy cane pack... A&W Root Beer, Dr Pepper & Pepsi. Weird... :kinky elf:

It probably tasted good, though? Except the Pepsi. Now if it had been Coke...
