On our last day, it looked like the sun was finally going to come out. As soon as we got our blanket spread out on the beach, the rain came again in sheets. We went back to the hotel, packed our bags and headed home.

lol This reminds me of when my sister and I were younger and we had to sell candy bars for dance class. I think we sold one or two and ate the rest ourselves. They were delicious. My mother was not happy.

Mistletoe
10-17-2020, 10:15 PM
No, my father trained me to always check them first (mainly for fire hazards).

BUT, I have checked them and put them on, only to have half a strand stop working after I was done. Actually, this is a recurring problem with my outside lights- l really wish I could find a good quality brand!

Have you ever decorated a tree in just one or two colors?

Mistletoe
11-02-2020, 04:17 AM

Mistletoe
02-02-2021, 02:35 AM

Mistletoe
02-19-2021, 02:48 AM

Bishop1954

Mistletoe
03-06-2021, 11:21 PM

Bishop1954
03-07-2021, 12:36 AM

Mistletoe
05-11-2021, 01:28 AM
Hmmm...I believe I have, but can't recollect what it was. It was some years ago. It would have to be something that I was sure they would never get for themselves and would never need to be returned. Not many gifts fall into that category.

Have you ever started doing a puzzle and it was just too difficult, so you stopped?

Bishop1954
05-11-2021, 03:57 PM

Have you ever woke up and wondered where you were? :hopxmas:
Don't feel bad, my attention span keeps my puzzles to 300 pieces lately. I start in the evening and like the feeling of accomplishment as I go off to bed. :santahat:

After a nightmare, or when I'm first home from vacation.

Have you ever given someone a name that you see frequently, but don't interact with, just so you are able to refer to them?

Have you ever laid your glasses (or perhaps wallet) down and was sure where you left it, only to discover it is not there?

Mistletoe
08-06-2021, 03:45 AM
That actually hasn't happened in awhile. It's more that I have no clue where I put something down. Lately, it's been in the basement, when I've run down to get something.

Have you ever done a dream journal- keeping track of the dreams you have each night?

Bishop1954
08-09-2021, 07:32 PM

Have you ever put aside some Halloween candy for yourself? (be honest now... lol) :jack:

Mistletoe
11-07-2021, 01:57 AM
Um, I never did well with setting some aside- it didn't last very long. More than likely I inhaled what I bought for myself at the time of purchase and then on Halloween, would be having some before and during the trick-or-treaters (which may have caused us to run out earlier than we would have otherwise :jack:).

Have you ever invited someone who was not family to your Thanksgiving dinner?

Bishop1954

Have you ever went someplace (like a hotel or friend) when you lost power?

Did the Victorian meal have a lot of courses?

I wish- every hotel was booked up and everyone else had lost power also (including NY). At least misery loves company- we were all in the same boat.

Have you ever been on a vacation somewhere and thought about how you would have rather been someplace else?

Mistletoe
08-09-2022, 04:24 PM

Yes. My father hates the beach, so all growing up we went to any place but. He liked historical battle places, like Gettysburg. History is interesting, and it was cool to stand where they stood, but when everyone we knew was at the beach... You?

Mistletoe
09-02-2022, 01:25 AM

Mistletoe
09-06-2022, 12:41 AM

Scary (the earthquakes)! Was your home damaged by them?

Bishop1954
09-06-2022, 02:12 PM
Haunted House was a type of board game, as was Man from UNCLE. Not damaged, as we were far from the epicenter, but a very interesting way to wake up... lol.
I would love to have visited the Disneyland during the late 60's, but of course when I was older to appreciate it more.

Bishop1954
11-24-2022, 02:56 PM
Not dressed exactly, but I use to put on my clothes and a pair of boots, then climb out the upper bedroom window, leaving footprints on the roof and then enter througfh the door we kept open for Santa (no fireplace) and leave a Santa sack with their presents from the big guy... :xmashigh5:

Have you ever dressed up as an elf for your own family or perhaps a charitable event?

Mistletoe
11-28-2022, 02:55 AM
Brave to be up on the roof when there's snow (I'm assuming there was snow, in order to leave footprints)! I couldn't be up on the roof in any condition! That's real dedication, Bishop.

Have you ever decided to add some last minute decorating (as in you finished your interior a week or more before)?

Mistletoe
12-23-2022, 02:08 AM

Have you ever been stranded on your way to a Christmas celebration and missed out on it (travel delays, etc)?

Bishop1954

Have you ever had a Christmas dream that seemed so real after you woke up?

Mistletoe

How sad that must have been to have your leave cancelled for Christmas! Was it due to an emergency?

Yes, I had a recurring nightmare for years (into adulthood) that I overslept and missed Christmas- I always woke up in a panic and it took a few moments to convince myself that it was just a dream. You?

Mistletoe

Every year as we put ornaments on the tree we talk about when we got this one or that one. It's the best part- it's our history.

Mistletoe
06-24-2023, 04:00 AM

Have you ever had a desire to do something or go somewhere and when it finally happened, it was not as good as you had hoped?

Have you ever bungee jumped or had the desire to?

Bishop1954
08-03-2023, 12:47 PM

Bishop1954
09-14-2023, 01:44 PM
Sadly yes. But that is only due to my very limited wants. I'm one of those who looks at something and asks... "Am I really going to use that?" before a purchase... :snowman:
