Oh yes. Christmas in July has become a big thing here. Christmas movies almost all day on the 2 Hallmark Channels, the Hallmark ornament premier, QVC Christmas sales, and even some local merchants are on board. My grocery store has a small Christmas display set up.

I like to check QVC, but yesterday I didn't see any Christmas. Did I miss something, or is it over already?

I like to check QVC, but yesterday I didn't see any Christmas. Did I miss something, or is it over already? I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday night.

I was channel surfing and came across it. The set was all decorated up, and they were selling some snowman things. The next segment was Christmas food.

Current catalog just came in the mail today. It is the first seasonal catalog with Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas. I've been selecting some wrapping paper and Christmas cards at a decent price. Always good quality with Current

'Tis that time of the early autumn once more; the infinite piercingly blue sky, the leaves just beginning to copper, the early morning chill, and that certain clarity of sunlight. Yes, I'm beginning to tingle!

Twitchy. Anxious. Excited. Eager. Energized. Enthused. What am I leaving out? :dizzy:

Seems that everywhere I go lately, I see at least a little bit of Christmasy things and it makes me want to buy more stuff for the house. I went to Home Depot the other day to buy a weed eater and ended up spending about 15 minutes perusing all of their Christmas decorations.

I love this thread, Moley! So who's feeling their first bit of twitchiness (is that even a word?) for Christmas this year? :presents2:

I'm most excited about decorating. Can't wait to add some new outside lights this year! :gingerhouse:

I keep spending time planning out my decorating strategy for my new home this year. Can't wait to start and see if my ideas pan out!

Yes, I'm getting twitchy.

Yes, we moved in January. We had a strange Christmas last year as we sold our old home in mid-December and didn't move into our new one until early January. We spent Christmas in hotels with no decorations - so that is why I am REALLY looking forward to it this year!

Yes, most stores are all ready for Christmas now. I was in Walmart yesterday and purchased another box of Holiday cards (for my Jewish friends) and another piece for my village. This piece is an old time gas station. I am really looking forward to setting up my village this year!

Between work and Covid, I haven’t had a real Christmas for 3 years! I’m definitely getting twitchy! I bought a boatload of new decorations after last Christmas. I have also purchased new dishes, napkin rings, and table linens. I even have a box of nonperishable items for Christmas dinner in case of supply issues! I’m having a blowout Christmas no matter what!

Yay! You should have a lot of fun this year!
Good idea about the non-perishable items...

Being in the military for so many years, I've often wondered what it would be like to celebrate Christmas by having a dinner consisting of C-Rations or MREs. Not that I intend to... lol :xmaswink:

I had to look those up. :santahat:
My mother bought pouches of military emergency food years ago, that you would activate, either with water or shaking it, I think. I don't remember them being hugely disgusting, but I know I was afraid to eat them and wasn't keen to have more than one.
Hopefully none of us will ever have to resort to any of that- especially for the holidays (but it is good to be prepared)!

Good point. When single, my Christmas dinners were somewhat simple to fix, but always welcome when I consider others throughout the world... :home:
