I think it becomes like the progression of time itself. I remember when it seemed like a particular day (or season) would never get here in my youth. As a young man, time almost remained a constant day after day.
Now in those "senior" years it literally flies by... ah well. As long as my memory remains intact (good Lord willing), I can always close my eyes, relax and bring back any time that I have ever lived and enjoy it again for a brief visit...

I honestly feel like I just put our holiday items away. If I could get away with it I would never take my decorations down. I love the warm feeling you get just thinking about Christmas.

Believe it or not, with all the accumulated stuff in my garage, the lighted garland around my double garage door is still up. And yes, from time to time I turn it on. Maybe tonight with this blizzard blowing around.

The older I get, the faster the time rolls by. We are already approaching the first quarter of the year till we are back into the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year". :santa-smiley:

That must be really weird, since it probably felt like a lifetime that you were in the service.

No kidding. It feels like yesterday that you were deciding what your theme would be for this year's Christmas yard display. And I think that was right after Christmas last year. :santahat:
I feel like I can confidently tell myself that Christmas will be back here before I know it (which helps a lot!).

To be sure. I am already working on next year's design. I'm thinking of the theme "Checking it Twice". What do you think? :home:

I like that theme. I'd be interested to see how you put that together.
The library looks cozy. What's on the top of the tree? And I know I said it before, but I really like the lantern light. :reindeer2:

Hallmark is all ready with their Christmas in July movies. The holiday season will be here before we know it!

Went by Hobby Lobby again and the Christmas decor is beginning to show. Of course they do not carry Halloween stuff, so I guess it is easier to get a jump on those that do. 3/4 of the year is nearly put to bed. C'mon Fall... :fall:

What is the most amazing to me is how our minds and bodies disconnect at times. I am 70. Intellectually I know this. If I try to do too much, my body reminds me (lol). But so many times when it is just me and my surroundings, the concept of age escapes me somehow... :waving:

I know what you mean- I often feel like I'm in a time warp. Like no time at all has passed. I'm grateful that I can easily feel like times past have just happened. One of my sisters has been saying how old we all are since we were in our 20's. I'm so glad that I don't feel that way- even now. I think it might be because I like to immerse myself in the happy times/memories. What do you think?

Sounds logical to me or as I like to say about myself, "I hope I will never be 'childish', but forever 'child-like'." :xmascandycane:
