Shopping is always expensive and time consuming. I like to start early and buy a little bit at a time. This way the cost is less painful! So far I have 2 gifts - a learning toy for my grand-niece and a board game for one of my daughters (one of her gifts). How about you?

I used to start shopping in August! The last few years I've been way behind, trying to do it all in a hurry. But I love taking time, spending hours looking for those perfect gifts that just jump out at you. So no, I'm not started yet, but hopefully within a week or so.

Just a Christmas puzzle, 500 pcs, waiting for it by the end of next week. Nothing else, yet..
I have to say, it really ''helps'' the weather here, for not getting into the mood for Christmas shopping or anything related to Christmas, as, weather is moslty sunny with temps around 30c... :(

I actually wrapped the 3 gifts I've purchased. And I've decided that I have so much wrapping paper left from last year that I won't need to purchase any!

I have 5 gifts purchased and three more on order. I hope to be done with all shopping and wrapping by early November. Then I'll go out to buy stuffers in December, so I can then sit at the mall and feel the hustle and bustle of the season without having to fight the lines. I don't do well in crowds anymore - so this strategy works best for me!

You're not late at all. I'm just early. I have trouble walking - so I try to avoid the crowds in late November and December. I've ordered a lot on line this year as well. I'll shop for stocking stuffers in December, so that I can get a feel for the hustle-bustle. Also, I like to spread out the expense as much as possible.

I actually started in late July this year. I have a system that I try to go by each year to ensure that I am not overwhelming myself but still able to get my family nice gifts. One of the things that I do is go the day after Christmas and grab some of the things that they marked down at Walmart, like the little gift sets, that I usually use for office gifts. Then I figure out my expenses and what I have to spend out of each paycheck for the holidays, while still having money left for myself. I buy the stuff I am going to purchase on-line first and then head to the stores after all online shopping has been completed.

I do basically the same thing. It is so much easier to spread out the expense and to plan who gets what early on. I always start shopping in the summer as well.

I picked up a couple of things that aren't really Christmas gifts, just some fun things for some friends with children. Advent calenders are starting to show up in stores, so I picked up some. I also picked up a Ninjabread cookie kit for a friend of mine who has 5 boys. It's a gingerbread cookie mix that comes with Ninja cookie cutters and decorations.

I do my best to listen to the little hints that I think my family is giving me through out the year, some they get for their birthdays the rest I try to save for Christmas. I have yet to start wrapping any gifts though, for some reason when I start my wrapping early they never look as nice once they go under the tree. Plus, I have to adult children who are still in the habit of shaking things. So this year I have made every effort to hid any gifts that could be there's. But now my closet in my bedroom is overflowing with boxes.

I wrap the gifts so that no one can accidentally come across them (even though both of my girls are also adults) and put on the tags -BUT I don't put the ribbons or bows on until it's almost Christmas. This way the gifts look neat and crisp!

17 Gifts purchased and wrapped. I re-worked my list, so now I only have 5 more to get - actually 2 or them are cash gifts, 1 is a gift card, 1 I'm ordering online tomorrow, and the last I need to purchase. The end is in sight!

Great gift- how old is your granddaughter?

She's married and has two children --- a boy and a baby girl (4 mos old). Her husband is working and going to school full time; he's studying to be a nurse. She's taking a couple of classes and will eventually teach school. Money is tight for them right now.

People here buy at many different times. I often start buying in the summer/early fall. A lot of people wait until November, yet some don't start until Christmas Eve! lol

I have 22 gifts bought and wrapped and 4 on order. I have even purchased my stocking-stuffers. Feels good! Just a little concerned about one of the gifts I ordered. It was supposed to be here between Nov. 18th and 20th. Well today is the 24th and no sign of it!

I have already purchased gifts for my family in the month of November. As we know that, Christmas is the time for giving and sharing. During Christmas it is better to give love and kindness, but it is the fact that giving gifts is still a part of the Christmas tradition.

Last week I bought Nail Decals for my sisters. I placed my order at Born Pretty Store and they have a good collection if you are looking cheap makeup gifts for your loved ones. I was lucky to find this an extra $10 discount from this site (http://www.couponwind.com/view/born-pretty-store/). Now I am looking for a coat for my father. I do not have more than $100 budget for this but still hoping to find best quality. :elf2:

I ordered 4 gifts in early to mid November. One was ordered thru a university catalog. I had to contact them 5 times about this order. I kept being given different ship dates and other excuses. They finally said it was shipped and gave me a FedEx tracking number. Fed Ex kept telling me there was no record of this number. Well I finally got the item today via regular mail - NOT FedEx. That only took 6 weeks! The other 3 items were ordered thru a gift company catalog. When I didn't get any items after 4 weeks, I contacted them, but no answer at Customer Service for 3 days. I then received a letter in the mail saying that one of the items was back ordered until March and inferred that the other 2 should already be in my possession. I finally got thru to them - cancelled the item on back order and got them to re-ship the other items. I then got another letter saying that yet another item was back ordered until January!!! I called them back and was told, that they were able to send it. So on Friday I received one of the items and today (finally) I received the last one. I swear I will never order gifts again!

I got the last of the Christmas presents last night when I was doing the Christmas Dinner shopping :). It's been so expensive this year, I don't remember last year being this bad.
Anyway, I got this lovely little fruit bowl for my hubby's parents. so that's me all wrapped up for this year :)
