White Christmas

Steph, I watched White Christmas for the first time two years ago and was blown away by how HILAROUS it is - I usually don't like movies made before the 1980s because I find the acting to be soo bad - but Danny Kaye is AWESOME - as good as any modern comedian.

Anyway - to contribute to this thread I watched The Family Stone a few days ago.

I saw it for the first time a few years ago. It's my best friend's favorite Christmas movie and she could not believe I had never seen it. So, I saw it at her house back then. This year, I wanted to add a few Christmas movies to my collection and this was one of them. I got it in blue ray and it looks so good. Unfortunately, when I was trying to watch it last night, I got lengthy interruptions and then kept falling asleep. I have never seen The Family Stone.

Just finished the Hallmark Channel's Northpole. Loved it!

We watched that when it was on last year. I thought it was "ok". My wife didn't care for it much. We record and watch TONS of Hallmark movies during their Countdown To Christmas celebration. Some are always better than others. Northpole is supposed to have a sequel THIS year! :)

My boys like both Mickey's Once and Twice Upon a Christmas!I do too, but I don't love them.

I think my favorite Disney Christmas cartoon, is the one where Mickey Mouse chops down the tree Chip and Dale live in, and uses it for his Christmas tree. The Chipmunks end up driving Pluto nuts. I can't think of the title of the short off hand, but it is on one of my Disney Christmas DVDs. I think the cartoon was made in the early fifties.

I watched Christmas with the Kranks on Netflix. I really want to like it, but I don't. Jamie Lee Curtis, Tim Allen, Tom Poston and Dan Aykroyd are all wasted in this film. The only funny scene was Jamie Lee Curtis trying to get the ham. Don't get me wrong. The movie isn't terrible, It just doesn't work for some reason.

I watched Switchmas and was pleasantly surprised. It's cute, funny and sweet. I admit I had pretty low expectations, so maybe that is why I enjoyed it so much. The plot is kind of like The Parent Trap. A Jewish boy who is obsessed with Christmas trades places with a Christian boy who's never been to Florida. Neither boy has seen their relatives in years so they are able to pull it off.

The Bridge. We were really anxious to see this one on Hallmark last night because it's set in our town of Franklin, TN. One look at the downtown area and it was pretty obvious that it wasn't Franklin. According to IMDB, they shot the movie in Victoria, BC. However, there were plenty of Franklin/Nashville references throughout the movie.

The only disappointing thing about the movie was that at the very end it said "to be continued...." And the other half won't be shown until next December.....

Christmas with the Kranks. I don't know why I watched it. I really don't like this movie, yet every time I think "Maybe I'll like it this time". For whatever reason, this movie just doesn't work.

I agree a bit with you. I do however love how they come together to keep ones smile going. :)

The last Christmas flick I watched was Die Hard. I know it it's that Christmasy in atmosphere, but it's definitely thrilling and had me on the edge of my seat. I personally am a little bit tired of all the happy films they broadcast on TV during this time of the year. It's always one and the same, I guess that's why Die Hard worked for me, it was completely different.
