We are now under blizzard warnings for Monday into Tuesday! They are expecting up to 36 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 65mph. In NYC (about 20 miles south of us), they are predicting the worst snow storm on record! Husband is out buying some supplies

Thanks wstaple! We are now under a state of emergency. They are shutting things down by 4pm - major highways, some NYC subways, Central Park - telling everyone to leave work early, get home and stay home! I just hope we don't lose power!

Blizzard was a bust here. It stayed to the east of us, so we got only a few inches. It is still snowing lightly. Daughter is away at school on Long Island. She got a lot of snow and wind. They lost power in the dorms

I want to say we got about a foot. Disappointing. All this build up and then pretty much nothing. I consider this the kind of snow we SHOULD get in the winter. The anticipation was fun, though, and it's nice that we all got a snow day. ;)

So much snow. About 12+ inches fell overnight, on top of the 8 or so inches we already had on the ground! Can't even walk the dog. My husband and my daughter's boyfriend have been shoveling us out. It will be weeks before this whole mess melts!

It was that way when I was growing up in upstate NY - near Syracuse. I now live in the NYC suburbs where it is unusual to get this much snow and temps this low. Upstate they get the lake effect snow (constantly)off the Great Lakes; here we get nor'easters that come up the coast (occasionally)from the south. I remember one year when I was about ten, we actually had snow flurries in June.
