Really, if you could select your own ornaments, what would you do to make it look special?

Last year I did this:

This year I want to remove all the gold pinecones and put more glass fans on it. Any advice?

I love a tree with all glass ornaments. Some co-ordinating strands of beads might look pretty

Thanks. Every time I look at it, I think it needs beads or garland.

Thanks. You know, I hadn't even heard of Thomas Pacconi until a few days ago. Most of my ornaments are by Inge-Glas , one I got at a Christian bookstore and don't know who made it, and then there are a few Shiny Brite designs by Radko.

Once in a while I use some old German ornaments that I bought in in 1970:

I haven't seen any Thomas Paconi on QVC this year!

This just makes me think about the wide tastes everyone has in Tree Decoration. The first year I was living on my own I went out and bought a little 4 foot Tree for my apartment and a bunch of lights and decorations. My girlfriend, when she saw it, remarked that it looked "COLD" because it was pretty much all White and Light Blue lights with a couple clear crystal and silver ball ornaments. I thought it looked "Classy" but once the girl moved in a couple years later we switched over to full sized with multicolored lights, ribbons, and glass ornaments. Clearly my taste in tree decoration was "WRONG" lol.

Ha! I should have spray painted the pot silver:

That was one of my trees in 2011.
