Hi everyone :) Saturday was a good day as I started to get the tree set up. There were about 30 dead bulbs that I had to fix, other than that everything is moving along smoothly... that is as smooth as setting up a 12 foot tree can go lol. I am hoping to put in a solid 5 hours tomorrow :)

Sorry for not posting earlier. That tree is such a beast to set up and every year it gets more and more complicated. I am going to be cursing myself when the time comes to take the tree down Lol. Pictures coming a little later :)

Mike, I feel that way with just my 7 1/2 ft tree. I can't imagine doing a 12 footer. but.. I'm happy to have YOU be the one to do all that work and ME (or us at ATC) be the one(s) who get to enjoy all your amazing pics, (I'd insert a grinning elf here, but don't seem to have access anymore)

Well I am 18 hours in and all of the mini lights are done and the star has been mounted. Tomorrow I will finish the twinkle lights, add the ornamotors, anchor the tree, and start on the ornaments

It was another productive day. The lights are completely done, ornamotors are set up and tied down. I have also anchored the tree and done a stress test. I shake the tree to make sure it will not come crashing down. I also check the temperature of the tree with all the lights on for 2 hours with a laser thermonitor. I have brought up most of the decorations and will start to decorate tomorrow. Lots of pictures coming :)

Thanks everyone :) I am very happy with the tree and I have been able to set it up in record time this year.

I am sorry about taking so long to post updates. I am slower than Florida posting election results.... ok maybe not that slow :dizzy: I am such an idiot, after thinking that I was finished with the tree I found another bin of ornaments in the basement that I missed bringing upstairs and to top it off I left out a bunch of ornamotors.... oh well...

With that being said the tree is almost done and there are lots of pics coming. I was out this evening shopping. More ornaments, an interesting LED light conbination of colours for the purple tree ( which I will talk about more on Sunday, and 2 new christmas trees and matching wreath for the front porch.

It's an incredible sight though, and a difficult thing to do in creating a sumptuous layered effect in depth without making the tree look overdecorated.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone :) I had a family emergency to deal with but I will post more pics in the coming days. I completed the purple tree and have got the outside roff top lights done. I might be able to get another tree done this weekend.

January is always a sad time of the year when we take down the decortions. I will start taking things down on Jan 19th as I have friends coming to visit iin the coming days and they want to see the decorations.

Hi Everyone :) Most of the decorations are down and packed away. I took the big tree down last week and it took me 12 hours. The purple tree is the last item left to take down.

Yes the house certainly does Papa. I am going to be starting on my home projects in a couple of weeks, workingon some lighting and shelves in my Star Wars room. Yes I have a room that is all Star Wars. Then I have to finish painting the 2nd floor of the house followed by landscaping, a waterfall in the back and that should get me to October just in time for Christmas planning:)

Those numbers have changed in recent years since I moved into the house and bought the 12' tree. Now there are 800 twinkling and 4500 clear mini lights. That number is going to increase on November 16th when I start on the tree.
