Continued from the original thread (http://www.allthingschristmas.com/forum/threads/1845-What-is-the-last-Christmas-item-you-bought), I'll kick things off -

I had a $25 off coupon for TheShoppingChannel.com, so I bought these great Christmas ornaments (http://www.theshoppingchannel.com/Holiday-Memories/Ornaments/Holiday-Memories-Green-Red-Hand-Decorated-Glass/pages/productdetails?nav=R:510258), and they came really quickly --- and to my surprise, they were OVERSIZED and really, really pretty:

I'm trying not to spend too much this year - although I've probably already spend over $100 on decorations (and still have to replace all of our tree lights to new LED's).

So what have you bought, most recently?

My husband bought me two Christmas items on ebids. One was a very pretty musical door mat - a snowman design with vibrant colors - I think I will put it by the fireplace actually. The other is a decorative musical "tea pot" which I will place somewhere in the kitchen.

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought an ornament and craft supplies. I want to put my husband's picture in the ornament. My 12-year-old granddaughter is bringing two friends tomorrow and we'll do something with the beads and wire.

We learned what to do and what not to do. We decided that a 24-inch wire is a whole lot better than 12 inches, and to bend the wire after all the beads are strung. I also think I'll get some nylon nose pliers to uncoil the new wire next time. Here are some of the finished products:

a cd called 'The Best Christmas Album (or CD??) .....Ever' It has classical recordings of 4 or 5 different choirs, chorales, etc.. and it's excellent but there is one thing I would change if I could. One of the groups are the Maedieval Baebes and, to me, they just do not measure up to the other groups. They sing well, but somehow just don't sound truly professional. I would rather another singing group had been put on the cd in their place, but it's only about 4 selections.

I have been buying LOTS of things! Some I'll have to show later, though, when my tree gets set up.

In the meantime I bought two Foam Craft Projects. One I intend to decorate our new place (moving in 5 days!!!) and the other will be fun to do with my Mom this weekend (after the Santa Claus Parade on Sunday!):

:christmastree: I bought colorful shatterproof ornaments including a red hippo and a green hippo for one of the grandsons (he's age 8). He has his own fiberoptic tree. You may recall that I also bought him a glass pickle earlier. He has the best sense of humor of any of the grandkids! He's always making us laugh.

And I bought a pre-lit LED wreath to replace the old wreath that had no lights:

I bought an mp3 download from amazon. it's called Big Box Christmas or Big Christmas Box. and it only cost 99 cents!!! It is old classical Christmas music (not to be confused with classic Christmas music) it has 270 or 280 songs on it. I love most of it, it is 13 or so hours of listening pleasure. it includes the complete Messiah and complete Nutcracker, as well as beautiful choral pieces.

I always get the Madame Alexander series ornament (this year is #20 in the series), the Puppy Love ornament for my older daughter (this year #25 in the series) and the Fairy Messenger ornament for my younger daughter (this year #11 in the series). They are all so cute! Additionally, this year they have an ornament premier "Madame Alexander - Glinda the Good Witch". Sorry to hear Merry! Just spend Christmas with us! I am counting on all of yu here to help make my Christmas bright! I won't be having my best Christmas ever this year, even though I will try to make the best of it. Moving in December is going to kill the spirit for me. I just saw this post now - believe it or not!!! Christmas last year was VERY strange! We sold our house on Dec 17th and bought our new one on Jan 8th - so technically, we were homeless. It was so odd not being surrounded by decorations! We did go to a dude ranch for 3 days over Christmas and that was a lot of fun. I brought along a very small tree with a few ornaments and all our gifts. Our little dog really enjoyed himself. I am SO looking forward to a normal Christmas this year!

Well, the last one I bought was several weeks after Christmas. Wal-Mart had their 90% off sale and I picked up a 7' tree for $8.90 (originally $89) and several other decorative items that would have totaled over $150 for less than $16. "Drink Up" holiday wine labels. We use them when we attend cookie exchanges or holiday parties. Always a hit. :christmastree:

Actually came across some stockings at the store that had fallen by the wayside. Checking the price, they had been reduced to $.20. What can I say? I bought them all... :hopxmas:

I bought a Fir Flip tree from Balsam Hills and It was a great experience. I got it in discount as there was a deal going on on Balsam Hills and I get aware of this Dealmecoupon. I always keep an eye on Balsam Hill coupons before a month from Christmas. Have a look, still there are deals and coupons at Balsam Hills!

I hit up a quick garage sale and was given an old candle topper out of the free pile. It was super dirty and unusable. So I popped off the bottom cork insert and scrubbed it with a little bleach water. Now these snowmen have a forever home with us. I really love the snow on their noses.

That sounds good. I'm waiting for Trader Joe's to bring in the Harvest blend herbal tea. It's so good! It's like autumn in a cup.
