About how many stockings do you do each year?
I've finally gotten myself to the point of collecting ideas throughout the year, so I don't get so stressed out trying to be creative for everyone.

But this is probably the most memorable: a Super Mario Advent Calendar (https://amzn.to/31ncpo4)
Got it for my brother's family because there's a little one at home, recently quite into Nintendo games.

I normally do about 8, but there are other people contributing to each stocking, too. I can't imagine doing 16! We don't really put much candy/food in them, they're mostly small gifts, so it gets challenging.
Is your wife into Christmas as much as you are? Deciding in March about the stockings, when almost everyone else is wholeheartedly looking forward to spring...lol

She was not at first. When I went out to see her (before we were married) I had just retired from the military. I asked if she minded if I decorated the house for Christmas, since she did not get ito it as much (besides a tree) and when she came home that night, her eyes about popped out of her head. Originally she thought it was too much, but got use to it quickly and the year were put up 14 trees, she could not tell enough of her friends and had them come over to check it out. Our stockings contain an orange, a candy cane, some type of chocolate (usually coins), a Christmas novelty item (such as light glasses), a small game, a holiday Pez dispenser and a small gift card. :santa1:

Every year I get my friends little boy an advent calendar and an ornament, to help him kick off the season. Today I bought him the Spider-Man ornament from Hallmark. The only place I've seen calendars this year are at Trader Joe's, and I thought they were ugly, so I still haven't purchased one. Since I have to mail it this year, I'm also looking for some Christmas coloring books to fill up the box, but I haven't seen those either.

I finally decided on some purple C9 bulbs, but now I'm second guessing it. They remind me of A Charlie Brown Christmas for some reason, which makes me happy. I just hope they don't look 'Eastery' when they're up. The clear purple looked red in the string and the black bulbs were grey. So these seemed the best, since I was looking to add a bit of fun. The more I look at it, though, I'm worried that it won't look Christmasy.

A 3 foot metal candycane. I was looking for something to buy for Christmas in July. I'm kind of surprised at the quality, having been on QVC- a normal candy cane has a continuous white swirl going around the cane- this has white pieces that don't join. I can only assume that it was painted in a country that isn't familiar with them. But, I really would have thought the company (Vickerman) would have had quality control for that. At any rate, I think it should look nice from afar on my front steps.

I'm actually a year round Halloween girl, the only exception is November and December for Christmas. I stumbled on Halloween ones by complete accident and went looking through the shop. I've never made ravioli in my life but I am gonna try! I love cooking, especially for other people, and especially if I can tie it into the season.
I bought my first gift of the year! It's for my brother, a Polk high football jersey with Al Bundy's number. It's our all-time favourite show and we still annoy the heck out of mom quoting it on the daily when we are together.

Anyone have some recommendations for wooden decorations?
Greetings and welcome. I suppose I would have to know if you are speaking about tree, home or yard decorations. For instance, all my nutcrackers (yes, I have a few) are wooden. A friend made me a wooden nativity set/puzzle. These are both in my home. I do have a couple of wooden signs for the yard and my son, when he was five, made me a wooden tree ornament. It is still the first ornament that goes on the tree and the last that comes off. Have fun... :home:

I'm on the hunt for some unique glowing-in-the-dark Christmas ornaments for this holiday season. I think they would add a magical touch to my tree and home when the lights are dimmed.
