German Sugar Cookies (Recipe that I've used for over 30 years)

3 c. sifted flour
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or regular margarine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; set aside.
Cream together butter and sugar in bowl until light and fluffy, using electric mixer at medium speed. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla.

Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture, blending well. (I like to chill the dough at this point.)

Divide dough in half. Roll out each half on lightly floured surface to 1/4" thickness. Cut with floured 2" cookie cutters. Place, about 2" apart, on greased baking sheets.

Bake in 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheets; cool on racks. Makes 6 dozen.

Thanks for posting MW. I will try this. I'll make the angel's kisses again too.
I have the exact same star cookie cutter you have too. My mom gave it to me. It's over 40 years old :)

LOL! I'm glad I was able to contribute!

I wonder if anyone hated the shape of this gingerbread man as much as I always did. My mother had a silver one like it, but she never made cookies.
