How many people can be served with a 1/2-Litre pudding mold?

I want to replace my old molds next year and I haven't used the old ones since the 1980s.

Also, is there a recipe for an orange raisin steamed pudding?

I was hoping someone in Great Britain could answer this for me.

Does a 2-quart pudding mold(mould) make enough for four adults? How many puddings do people set out at Christmas?

Suppose there are twelve people who come to dinner --- would there be several puddings, or is it possible to steam a rather large pudding?

I can't answer your question, but I did find this video that you might find useful. The microwave sounds much easier than the traditional way.

Oh I'm so sorry MW.... I only just saw this thread .. way too late !!

I got a lovely Christmas recipe book (http://www.booktopia.com.au/the-aww-christmas-collection/prod9781742451053.html) as a present from older son and as soon as I thumb through it ... will respond with hopefully an accurate response as there is quite a bit in there about puddings.

I guess next Christmas ... sigh !!

A 2-quart pudding mold will yield 8 servings ...

The amount of puddings would depend on number of guests ... one large pudding = 8 servings. If you're having 12 people for dinner I would have 2 large puddings.

I've noticed over the past years there is trend to serve small individual puddings but I tend to stick to just one large pudding which makes for great table presentation when you pour on warmed up brandy and flambe it at the table.

When my husband's grandmother in England was alive ... each year she would make a Christmas Pudding for each of her children and grown up grandchildren's families.

It was always traditionally made on 'Stir Up Sunday'...
