Well, last night was the night I put up most of my decorations - just waiting on the Tree (will be cutting down next weekend). Here are some photos, but all of my pictures can be seen ON MY FLICKR ALBUM HERE (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chantelle-joy/sets/72157628147864725/):

I also got a Town Clock (just a sticker-face, would be so neat if it actually worked!) at the Dollar store for $1!

Will update after we cut down and decorate the tree on the weekend.

Thanks everyone for the compliments - even my friends In Real Life have been impressed by the Christmas VIlliage this year! It's been my favorite layout, and just the right number of buildings and people! I've spent LOTS OF TIME just sitting, watching it. HAHA.

I know - the compliments make it all worthwhile! It can be alot of work - especially hiding all the electrical cords!

We cut down our tree this weekend!!! It's so perfect, I can't even really describe how wonderfully happy I am with it. We chose it instantly from the field of hundreds!

My roommate has the photos from when we actually cut it down, but here it is all decorated in my living room - and (if I say so myself) looks magical next to my Village.

We decorate it very traditionally, like how we remember our Christmas Trees from our childhoods (that's why my Bedroom Tree is so formal, this one is a hodge-podge of collected ornaments and colours!)

There are less than 500 lights on the whole thing (we don't have that many) but I think it still looks good because there's a string of BLINKY ones that goes through it, makes it come ALIVE :)
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7147/6457402103_48ab97cf66.jpg

My Christmas Train! :) It doesn't actually have track all the way around the tree, but I still think it looks good.

Here are some of my favourite ornaments.

First, a personalized one gotten for me by my best friend's family probably a decade ago, still hangs every year on my tree (it hung on theirs until I had my own).
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7004/6457400597_df87deb30a.jpg

Last year my boyfriend surprised me with this ornament as a Christmas Gift. He bought it on our trip to NYC in December 2010 (SOMEHOW without my knowledge), and it represents both that trip, and that we saw The Nutcracker together last year.

It's moments like this I wait all year round for, this is a perfect Christmas View to me...

Papa C! I knew you would be proud! ;)

Mina, I don't have any children, so that is not a concern, also, the tree has tie-backs to the wall so it cannot fall forward. (I hope everyone takes precautions like this with thier decorations to keep Christmas safe for everyone!)

We don't. Calculated risk, I guess. I am very adamant with the boys about not fiddling with the tree.

HaHa. I learned the hard way about tying the tree back to the wall. It happened to me (twice, I hate to admit). The tree fell and a number of sentimental ornaments broke - including the "Our First Christmas Together" one. The second time, the sofa "caught" the tree and no ornaments were broken. It really depends upon the height/ weight/ variety/ and trunk shape of the tree.

Actually, no one was home when our trees fell. We don't have pets either.. so who knows why!
