Do you carefully wrap your pressies beautifully or just a haphazard wrapping as it doesn't matter as gift is enough and .... wrapping will get ripped apart anyway?

I guess I fall into the category of wrapping beautifully whether the gift be just 'socks and underwear' or something expensive. I luv wrapping presents and do it from the heart.

Double sided tape (so no tape visible), nice ribbon and some embellishment...... maybe I'm just 'over Christmassy' ... well who knows but I do luv it

When the kids were little though ..... it was just basic wrapping. Their faces were such a joy as wrapping paper went flying everywhere...... :elf1:

HA!...there's that word again. "Pressies".

I am not a very neat present wrapper. I tend to go pretty fast. My mother-in-law has MS, so she can't wrap anymore. All her presents are in gift bags. It makes her sad, but we all tell her they still look beautiful.

I like my gifts to look beautiful, so I take my time and wrap neatly. I used to buy only the most expenive wrapping paper, ribbon and bows and people would rave about the wrapping - but no more - can't afford it anymore!

I think mine still look nice. My only problem is that people complain I use too much tape. I don't like when the wrapping paper looks "loose".

My very first job was in gift wrap. I used to buy Hallmark package trims and make the most beautiful gifts for Christmas and birthdays. As the years went by, I noticed that people tend to be more interested in the gift than the wrapping. Eventually I recognized that not only are we not wealthy, but we weren't even headed that way.I learned to cut back on package trims and now I'm trying to eliminated paper if the gift is for a family member. I make cloth bags or use pillowcases and have the grandchild return those to me. But I'm not a Scrooge --- I love buying and giving gifts.

I buy wrapping paper in the after Christmas sales, save all the ribbon year to year from family pressies and for package embellishments I either use cheap tree ornaments that I am tired of or bits from the dollar store.

I think making cloth bags is a lovely idea ... if I had a sewing machine I would do. I've seen some Christmassy ones in the shops and they're not cheap.:xmascandycane:

Yes MW - my wrappings and trims were ALWAYS from Hallmark. I was always so proud of how beautiful my gifts looked! Just can't do that now - even Hallmark doesn't have the selection it used to have!

They closed all the Hallmark stores in our area. We can get a few things at Walmart and Walgreens but not much.

I love wrapping presents. I don't know why, I just do. It's therapeutic almost, ha. So I take my time and make it look nice.

One year I bought really nice foil paper, took my time and wrapped all my gifts perfectly. Then nobody believed I did them myself. I still wrap my own gifts, but they aren't as profesional looking as that one year.

Depends on the gift, if the gift is cheap (wrap the gift nicely to make up for the cheap gift) if the gift is expensive, don't waste money and time making it look nice since the gift itself is already worth a lot!

I personally love wrapping gifts to make them as ridiculously pretty as possible! My family always has fun opening their presents, because they have so many bows and ribbons on them. :P

I wanted to wrap my presents in the GiftCouture .Com coordinated cheeseburger set... unfortunately they are only taking pre-orders until January 1.

I think I will order a couple sets anyways, they are only $20 for a 6 piece set and I've never seen something so unique! My nephew will love it, I think I will use it for his birthday in March.

I think I will get the Christmas wrap at Hallmark, since I have a gift card. Mary, I liked your idea of handmade wrapping paper but I'm already so crunched for time with relatives visiting...
