The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in NYC arrives today. They'll start setting it up, but won't light it until the end of the month. I used to work at 48th and 5th in Manhattan years ago. My Uncle worked right across the street. His office overlooked the tree. He used to have an office party to clebrate the lighting of the tree- which is a big, televised event in this area.

They got the Tree from my town a couple years ago. I think two of the Rockefeller Christmas Trees may have come from here.

I would love to take the family to see the tree, I also want to take them ice skating there and visit the Fao store.

Oh wow! I'm ever so slightly jealous! I'd LOVE to go to America, especially to see this tree... I might have to start saving - maybe by the time the girls are 10 and 11 I'll be able to afford to take them Christmas shopping in New York! :)

One year we took my daughter and her best friend to the Radio City Christmas Show and then skating at Rockefeller Center. What a great day!

I once attended a similar party where I had an awesome view of the tree lighting. I also used to work in that area and kind of miss it, especially around the holidays (but I don't miss the traffic there, OMG).

I'd love to see that tree in person. Always loved the look of NYC in the winter. Been there once to research at the museum, but it was February. :P
You're lucky, CJ! Great shot!
