Star? Angel? Ribbon bow? ... or other? How do you top your tree?

Simple and traditional? ... or with an extravagant 'Wow factor'?

I just don't seem to get it quite right somehow ... well I'm never that happy with it especially when I look at some of the fabulous tree topper arrangements on display.

Maybe one year :elf2:....

I'm cheap and old-school. We use a multi-colored star that I picked up at Walgreens several years ago for about $5. I have always preferred toppers that light up. I like that look better when it's dark and the tree is the only light in the room.

I put lights inside of my angel topper because I don't light dark toppers either!

Nothing can replace the Angel or Star tree topper I grew up with which my Mum used alternating years and which I carefully placed on the tree each year, even if they became a bit worse for wear as the many, many years went by ..... but taste and style inevitably change I guess ....

I've used bows the past years but now looking for something 'different'.... or back to my old school Angel... LOL

We always had a star with Mary in the middle, but that one's time passed and it was in pretty bad condition. So then we started using this star, but my mom hated it, so now we have an angel.

Never been a fan of angel toppers, but my 5-year-old absolutely LOVES angels, so his persistence might eventually pay off for him. Nothing beats the feeling you get by making your child happy!!

Aww  That's cute :)

We have a star at the moment, even though I would have liked an Angel. It's the one thing about Christmas 'traditions' that hubby has brought to the way we do Christmas. Everything else is the same as I had Christmas as a child. We always had an Angel when I was growing up, but hubby had always had a star and it seemed important to him, so we have a star :elf3:

Finial, 1994, and what my mother always used:

Most often a star:

we always had a star when I was a child, and also when my older children were little. for almost 20 years (?), we have had an angel dressed in white that lights up with clear lights. Maybe I will get a new topper this year, but not sure what type.

I grew up with a finial, but I never much cared for it. I now use an old fashioned looking Angel, but I'm open to change.
