Hey all you Christmas foodies! Maybe this Christmas try making a tofurky instead of turky...it is SUPER yummy and easy!! You can get them at Loblaw's or any other big chain store, or at your local natural foods store. Just thought I would post this as a suggestion! :santa:

We try to do this vegetarian thing once a week (Mainly health benefits and possibly for environmental reasons) and this time it falls on thanksgiving.. isntead of switching days we are going to try it!!!

Looking forward to it actually.. soemthign different than normal. I am not the biggest fan of Tofurky but there are some really good options out there... some even taste better

I've never heard of tofurky before! We use Quorn:

It doesn't have stuffing in the middle, but I prefer it that way. Then I get more 'meat' and get to make my own tasty sage, apple and onion mix to go on the side :christmasdinner:

That is really cool (both posts)!! Unfortunately where I live, there are not alot of store bought options, but luckily my mom is an AMAZING cook, so we have "beef wellington", and "meatloaf" as well! I hope that oneday I get to try all the other types of substitutes!! We actually only started getting the tofurky feast 5-6 years ago:)!! Oh, and I love the pictures!!!:elf3:

Nice :elf3: How long have you been vegetarian? Nobody in my family growing up was veggie which made it quite hard... I decided I didn't want to eat meat or fish when I was 14 so been a vegetarian for almost 10 years now! We are lucky in that we have a lot of meat-alternatives here. My favorite brand is cauldron.

Their sausages are devine! We have them with our Christmas meal, wrapped in vegetarian bacon! :christmasdinner:

But we get a lot from quorn, too in the way of roasts and vegetarian mince, 'beef' pieces, 'chicken' pieces for cooking etc.

Quorn also do good snack / party foods like mini sausages, mini sausage/egg balls, sausage rolls etc :elf3:

That is so amazing!! Luckily, I was brought up a vegetarian so family support was always there! I have been a vegan, however, for the past 4 years and I love it!! I will have to check out those websites! I live in Canada, and to phrase it nicely, we are a little behind the times here;)!! My dad is from England though and my mum lived there for 10+ years, so she knows about all the other items out there! It is so nice to meet another veggie!!! :)
