Thought I would start the 2011 thread.

For me I would love a new christmas journal for next year. I bought one a few weeks ago and I am really enjoying jotting down thoughts, ideas, recipes etc and I cant wait till I can look back on them and fondly remember christmas's past.

I'm sure Santa will appreciate the extra effort!

I have no idea what I'd like for Christmas... maybe some sci fi box sets. I don't have any of the Star Trek series on DVD (Yes, I am only just phasing out my VHS tapes) so that'd be nice :) I'm hoping my husband will buy me an eternity ring one day but I suspect if that ever happens it'll be an anniversary thing rather than Christmas or birthday. I like simple gifts for Christmas - nice bath sets, new pjs, underwear etc. Stuff that makes you feel all pampered and cosy :smitten:

Last Christmas, my wife and I got each other B&N Nooks. They've been great and we actually read a lot more now than we did before! I think this year, I'd like a tablet pc. Not the iPad, though. I'm thinking the Asus Eee Pad! It's a tablet that has an optional dock to turn it into a regular computer. Pretty sweet. As you can tell, I love gadgets. :-D

Hi everyone,

I just signed up here in the hope to find a great christmas gift for my husband. He surprised me last christmas with a little doll? that looks like me, very sweet!! :santa1:

So I was hoping to get some ideas? He likes cars and cigars, but I can't afford a new car for him and I already gave him cigars for his birthday...

Thanks everyone for your help :singing:

Seems to be the adult-female gift of choice this year~

My hubby bought me a Kindle earlier in the year and the novelty has not worn off :santa-smiley: They are much easier to read (imo, in terms of eye strain) than books or computer screens. The one thing I've not been happy about is that I bought the £30 protective case and kept it in it, looked after it really well... within a month of having it - it BROKE. The screen looked like it had shattered and I felt sure they'd say it was my fault even though I know I looked after it well, but upon looking around the internet I discovered this is a VERY common fault with kindles. The good news is Amazon are happy to replace them no questions asked (the obviously know this is a common fault with their product) and to their credit, after a 2 minute phone call they had sent a new one out to me, which arrived the next day! I am a little worried that it might happen again outside of warranty but fingers crossed this one will last :my lord:

Minus that one incident, the kindle has worked really well. I love that I can email documents to it and read them as books - I can read my own written novels on there, and my *ahem* fanfiction http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k199/tasha-cat-mad/Smileys/blush.gif which is great because reading on a computer screen really hurts my eyes.

The only other gripe I have about it is that it's not compatable with N-band Wifi, which I did not know when we bought it. Hubby wanted me to get the one with inbuilt 3G so that I could use it anywhere - I said no, just get the regular one that I connect onto our wifi at home and I'll make sure I've downloaded the books that I want before I go anywhere... Our wifi is N-band and my kindle would NOT connect to it, so we had to buy a separate Gband router as an access point for my kindle, as I couldn't get on to the kindle shop on it using our regular wifi.

Despite all of that I STILL love it, use it regularly and think it's one of the best gifts my hubby ever got me :elf1:

If I could have absolutely ANYTHING, I'd ask Santa for this diamond Christmas star pendant that I saw in our local cash converter's window... I've never seen anything like it, before or since (I've had a look on google, too!). It's too expensive to ask my hubby to get it for me, but if I could have anything, I'd certainly want that :smitten:

What a great idea with a Christmas journal! Write down feelings, impressions, things someone said, things your kids did... It will be a lovely journal for years to come, and one can also put a few nice receipes there as well. Have you also thought about putting some pictures in there as well?

A new coat to wear for work.

I hope he does!!! We could relate to that in our past. I had a funny-looking hand-me-down one time(which, of course, was better than freezing). But that was the ugliest coat I've ever seen in my life! Seriously, I think there was only one of those in the entire world.

Hi everyone

I'm new to these sort of things and thought i'd should bring something to the party so to speak.

My two kids are getting really excited about Christmas, but my oldest (8yrs) is starting to doubt that Santa exists. So i went online and bought him a Santa Pack which was fantastic. Its a personal letter from Santa through the post which I could add details to, a photo of him caught on Santa's Spy Cam and loads of other personalised goodies with his name all over them. If you fancy treating your kids search santa-post on google, its on page 2 and about 3rd down

I would definitely recommend! x

Hi

Yes he absolutely loved it! He was jumping around saying "WOW how did he take a picture of me??!!" "I cant believe it!" It really made my day seeing how excited he was, and he's even behaving better knowing that Santa is keeping an eye on him. Its was really great quality too. I've tried some other companies before which weren't very good so make sure you choose the right one and remember to put the dash between 'santa' and the 'post ' (santa-post.co.uk)

its nice to share :) x

11-21-2011, 11:13 PM
OMG thats so cute i love it he loved it thats great he believes again
how long u think u will B able 2 get away with it again?

they grow up so fast then naughty kids @ school says " your a baby there is no santa " lol taking away all the lovleness of the joy & season .
but hes happy now .

i will remember the -between santa will let u know how it went

I reckon I might have another year out of him and then i've got to try some bartering techniques to stop him from spoiling it for his sister! So that will be interesting.
