someone sent me 'Dominic the Donkey' in an e-mail last year. this was the first time I had heard it. It was pretty cute, but I can't say it will ever be a favorite of mine.

I'm very old-school when it comes to Christmas music. Most of the new stuff doesn't resonate with me. The reason?...Simple. This is a time of year when I feel most nostalgic. I harken back to simpler times, and find myself enjoying pondering the things I enjoyed as a child. As a result, growing up listening to Bing, Andy Williams, etc...THAT'S what Christmas music is all about for me. Always will be.

My all-time favorite song is "Here We Come A Caroling" by The Ray Conniff Singers. I will listen to that one song at least once a day starting on Thanksgiving Eve through New Year's Night. However, I think this year I will listen to it at least once a day through 1-5-2011 (i.e. the 12th Day of Christmas).
Other than that song, my other two favorites are all versions of "The 12 Days of Christmas" and "Little Drummer Boy."

I'm not sure what my favorite Christmas carol is, but What Child Is This? immediately comes to mind. And, you'll never guess --- A Marshmallow World sung by Brenda Lee is a favorite, too. :singing:

It's really tough to just pick one. I love so many.
I guess I would have to say I love "Baby, It's Cold
Outside" the most. I have almost every rendition of
that song that exists. I also love Christina Aguilera's
"Christmas Time" a lot.

Just curious...does Baby It's Cold Outside ever actually make a reference to Christmas? I know people associate the song with Christmas, but is it actually a Christmas song? Same thing with Let It Snow.

There are several "Christmas" songs that really don't reference Christmas, but they always get included...I guess people associate snow and winter weather with Christmas, so it makes it a Christmas song! :snowman:
