I have been watching "Year without Santa Claus" and "Robin and the 7 Hoods", both have wonderful songs.

I would like some recommendations. I love the music in Year without Santa Claus, for example the Heat Miser and Snow Miser songs. I tried some other similar cartoons like Rudolph, Santa Claus comes to town etc., but their songs were not as good.

Also any other movies with songs like Robin and the 7 hoods? I already have White Christmas, Holiday Inn etc.

Thanks,

Jay

"While You Were Sleeping" is one of my all time favorite movies. It's a unique love story set at Christmas time. The Christmas theme runs through the entire movie, yet it's not really a Christmas movie per se. I love to watch it at Christmas time. It does star Samdra Bullock and Bill Pullman (I went to college with him!)

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas...and NO, not the Jim Carey movie.

There is nothing like the original cartoon. I am not a Jim Carey fan, so don't care for his version. Funny, because I do own the DVD, but it is the only Christmas movie I haven't watched yet this year!

DH(Dear Husband) and I just watched Christmas Story
(Joulutarina) 2007; it's a Finnish movie about a young orphan named Nikolas. You get the idea. It made me cry like a baby but it's a great movie.

The other night we watched Booky and the Secret Santa, a 2007 Canadian family television movie starring Rachel Marcus and Megan Follows. I LOVED it!

OMG! Have I really discovered other people who watch crappy Hallmark Christmas movies just because they're Christmas movies?

I thought my mother was the only one...but that can't be or Hallmark wouldn't make so darned many of them they have to start showing them in early November.

I'm sorry...I didn't mean to get off on the wrong foot here. I realized only after I'd re-read my posting here that it could sound a little like I was flaming. :o

Please...I was not...I was just in the living room watching the new one with Tess Harper and Kristy Swanson and crying over it. So it's not like I'm immune to the pull of the Hallmark Channel's sometimes cheesy offerings. :santa-smiley:

Again, my apologies.

Definitely a staple in our Christmas library as well. Only problem is our boys are still too little for it, so we have to find the time to watch it when they are in bed.

I thought it was really good and cute, too. My family (which right now consists of my oldest daughter and my grandson who have been here for a couple months, and my two youngest (son who is almost 16 and my daughter, who is 19) was laughing on and off throughout.
We had recorded it on the dvr when it aired Thursday night.
