Here we go! Halloween is over, time for the big holiday!

Started to plan out today what I am doing :elf1: woooo!

I think I am doing silver and blue themes again this year. How about you all? Thinking about colors yet?

We're taking down the Halloween stuff this evening. Wifey has some Thanksgiving stuff she likes to display. However, "inside" is her domain, but "outside" is MINE! I am starting to put out my decorations THIS COMING WEEKEND!!!

I always use the same docs and colors every year! I have to store so much stuff- because of my village display, that I can't have a big variety of colors!

It's inexpensive, but BIG! I just collect the same type of no-name brand shops and houses ones that complement each other. I will post a pic if I am able to set it up this year!

Silver and blue sounds nice..I'm thinking of the red and white theme again though. I like it traditional all the way through :christmastree:

I will probably use the same stuff that I have. I do a memory tree of ornaments that have been collected since the early 70's through today and I do a smaller tree in the living room that I used jewel tones on. For a few years I was doing orange and aqua but the girls thought it was to much like Thanksgiving because I decorated that room with those colors.

After work today, I'm gonna run the mower over my yard one last time, then I'll start laying my extension cords. Tomorrow is "hanging lights" day!! WOOHOO!!!

I just pray vandals don't mess with my stuff!!

Oh Oh M. Mike have you had trouble in the past with vandals?

MinnesotaMike

No...(knock on wood)...I just get more paranoid every year because my exterior display keeps getting bigger and bigger. I'm just nervous because I have a small front yard, and there's a sidewalk there. I worry that punk kids might simply be passing by and decide to kick something down or simply steal it. I try to keep stuff as far away from the sidewalk as possible, just to minimize temptation.

Wow, who needs Thanksgiving? haha, already the stores are crowded with holiday shoppers!

usually the stores don't get super packed with shoppers until at least Veterans Day (11/11) - but they were very crowded today - barely a parking space in the mall lot!

That is how our mall was today and I got there a few minutes after opening.

I think with the poor economy people are trying to find the very best bargains and hope to spread out their spending a bit more!

Thats a good enough reason for me as I started my Christmas shopping in summer to take advantage of the half off price they had on something I wanted to get for my brother in law.

It is always best to act fast when you see a bargain!

I read that many retailers are doing aggressive pricing early this year in order to make up for sluggish sales the past couple holiday seasons. Reports are that it's working because retailers are reporting high early numbers on holiday sales.

I hope it works out for everybody.
