Do you think I'll need about thirty? I'm only getting fifteen new ones. I'll look in the basement for some plain ones to fill in. Well, I remember two handblown German ones that are in the basement; I hope they're still there.

Is there a limit my friend?:christmastree: There's always room for more:elf3:

I guess I'm wondering if there's a minimum. I found eighteen small plain ones and seven old handblown German ones in the basement. That ought to be enough. Right?

What else will you put on, beside ornaments? :santa:

I like bead garland and white lights. I don't have a tree topper. But I don't use bows except on wreaths and packages. See some ornaments:

Hey guys! I love small trees. Don't be afraid to put large ornaments or decorations on a small tree. You won't need many and it can be a great filler for a tree that may not be as full as you like...I have attached a copy of a small tree I set out at work...I used some of the large decorative wooden balls as ornaments. It has a rustic look to it...I like it...notice my camo Santa beside it...I hope you like it!

You guys....

My main Christmas tree in the living room is three feet tall. I don't want just a few large ornaments on it. So now I've given up on getting advice. I'll just decorate it without advice. :( Olga will like it even if it doesn't have red bows.

You can decorate it any way you wish...I was just saying don't rule out large ornaments...they can work well even on a small tree, but go with whatever theme or decorating inspiration you have....there is no right or wrong in Christmas decorating...well, most of the time :elf1:! :elf3:

I apologize for my stupid response. Let me try to explain. I gave away my seven and a half foot tree because it is too much work at my age. But I did love the way it looked. So now that I've down-sized, I'm thinking that if I use smaller ornaments, I'll be able to have a variety. Otherwise, if it's just a little tree for the desk or buffet, a few large ornaments would be fine with me. Your little tree is pretty and very chiic.

I like both these trees. I too am going to branch out with small trees in other rooms. I've never done trees in other rooms, but I don't thing I want big ones.

Never had trees in other rooms, too... I may give it a try this year, with a small one in hall..

Oh my goodness...can you even see the green of the tree? :elf1:

I love lots of ornaments too...but when the tree starts throwing them back (they start falling off), then I think I have enough! :elf3:

Maybe you could pick a theme and work your way from there:elf3:

Two years ago I had four trees(tall one in living room, two three-foot trees in dining room, and the guest room tree that stays decorated all year). This year I'll have one tree in the living room and the one in the guest room.

Well, I think, a big red bow on the top, would be just perfect...:smiling angel: :smiling angel:

The tree ended up looking like this:

I loved my ornaments but was sad about the size of the tree.

I think Christmas trees look amazing no matter how many ornaments are on them. It's very hard to give or get advice on something like this because everyone has their own tastes. I tend not to overthink these things. I just decorate until I decide I'm done.

I love it! I can see why the size would upset you, but it does look a lovely tree :elf1:
