Wine Cookies
1 cup butter; 1 cup shortening (we prefer butter flavored Crisco); 1 ½ cup sugar; 2 eggs;
6 TBSP sweet wine; 5 cups flour; 1 tsp. salt
Knead together with your hands. Make 1 inch balls. Place on cookie sheet and put a dent into each one with your thumb and fill the dent with jelly.
Bake 10 minutes @ 350 degrees.

When I was young, my Mom used to make cookies called wine drops. They were very good, yet there was not a speck of wine in them! :sad elf:

They might be pretty close to the same thing as these minus the wine of course. :o)

No...fruitcake has candied fruit and nuts in it, and weighs about 20 pounds! :elf1:

I didn't know wine was so versatile!
